Looking for general info and value

Hi,
A co-worker has inherited a 72 LeMans 4dr with the grand touring package.

I was trying to find some info on production numbers and so on...

Also, trying to find a general value.. I have given her a shopping list of info that I would need. (engine, odometer reading, better pictures...)

Here are a couple of pics that I did get, but asked for some out of the garage.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure on production #s. There wasn't alot of 4 door made, but the problem is that a 4 door is not a so called collectible car. Thus there is a lower value on these cars.
My guess is in the high $1,000's to 2,000's You can list it higher and if you don't get any bites. Then drop the price.

Or..she can keep it and have an inexpensive cool old car!
Production numbers can be had by calling GM Historical Services. I don't have the number handy, but you can search the site-it is posted on here somewhere.

Just curious, what is the Grand Touring Package, is it a Luxury LeMans? If car is in Toronto I'd come and see it though to get a better idea of value. A luxo is going to be fairly low in value as already stated and hard to move.

Hey, that looks like my car's little sister ! Is it a Chevyac or a real Pontiac motor in there ? What size engine is powering it . I would ask for offers myself, you never know, there is always somebody who will be willing to pay for the car of his dream. It sure would be a nice family car to take out in the summertime or on special occasions...pull a trailer. Pascal

Yes, A Luxury LeMans..smile

Located up in cottage country. Her mom lived I believe 2hrs north of Perry Sound.

I myself would keep it as pontorquer mentioned. I would think it be your car's BIG Brother... biggrin

If it was Oshawa built it will get a Chevy engine but get the Pontiac 400 if you buy the big cubic inch engine. Our '72 Lemans Sport had the Pontiac 400. A 4 door will cost as much as a 2 door to fix up but will be worth way less. Even our '72 Lemans Sport was worth almost half what a similar GTO and it was pretty nice. Been there.
