Those of you who saw my post earlier this week searching for a 65 Canso Sport Deluxe that I had seen in Winnipeg but couldn't catch up with the owners to talk to them.............well, the 8th car I looked at in the show today was none other than that car! Very neat. Cool story along with it. I believe she said her grandparents bought it new in Winnipeg, then gave it to her mom. Then her dad had it repainted about 10 or 11 years ago and lost interest in it and the car was given to the current owners. Lucky stiffs! I told them about this site, but they are not really forum types apparently.
If this is still the same car I remember, it's a real GNX. I didn't check if it had all the correct GNX stuff on it.
This one sounded like pretty much a race car.....
Owned a by a Beaumont guru, none other than our resident member "beaumontguru". Spent quite a while talking with Dave again today. He has the neatest stuff!
Ontario car, from Thunder Bay. I've never seen it before.
I loved this little baby. It has a 3 on the tree, and I suspect a 6. Pretty solid looking original car with very minor rust showing. Looks like a granny car!
This one seemed like a decent deal at a glance. I didn't look it over real well, could see some cracking filler on it though.
Owned by our very own "Fake 68" member here. His Acadian is receiving a minor facelift on the tailpanel right now, so it stayed home and the Nova came.
And backed up to him was "68sd396rag" and his beater wagon!!!!! Beautiful car, I'm sure you recognize it as the recent feature car here.
My neighbour's car again. He was parked beside one of the members from here with the Beaumont wagon and the 69 T/A race car.
Chris, I'm sorry I never got to meet you. I stopped by 3 times and you were never at your cars!
Can't help it, may not be Canadian but I have a 64 Goat weakness!
Even Bo and Luke showed up. No Daisy though...
Ran into "pontorquer" a couple of times too. That was all I saw who I know from this site.

Crazy thing is Ray, I thought of you when I was taking the pic and right after I took that one, someone I knew came up, said "hi" and I forgot all about you. I'm sorry, the intent was good!

I didn't hear the final tally, but using other years at the same location as a guide, I'd say 700 maybe. It's been over 1000 on good year, but we had little squalls go through and rain for 5 minutes on us all day long. I drove through about 5 in my freshly washed car on the way to the city
Yes,it's in the Garden City mall parking lot at the northwest side of Winnipeg.

Yes, There sure was alot of nice cars as usual. I am hurt too, Carl ran into me but forgot to take my picture so you guy/gals know what I look like LOL ! That 73 Lemans was nice indeed, I wondered what engine was in it. I really like that 70 Pontiac wagon and 68 Beaumont wagon, the beige 64 GTO made me drool, first time I saw it too. Lucky me, I got to buy a minty black 76 Transam Formula rally steering wheel, including hub and horn button for my 72 Lemans project, real cheap too, now I only need the arrowhead center cap. It was nice to run in some old car friends including two 69 Firebird owners that I sold Pontiac 400's to.
damn... i came in from lake of the woods about 2pm and with the rain we were hit with, i didnt think there would be anyone out... i was planning on going out to the show... but watched the bomber game instead...which was a waste of time!
thanks for the pics carl! a
p.s. on a positive note, i caught 4 musky...largest 41"...no hawgs, but fun to catch!
Thanks for the pics. Looks like it was an Awesome show. Waiting til the end of Sept, and the Big show is in Radium, BC. They usually get quite a few nice cars, Hope the weathers good, I'll try and take lots of pics also. Love the Beaumont wagons and the 70 wagon as well..

Sorry Carl, spent more time walking around than hanging by the cars.I look forward to meeting you soon though, hopefully before winter. There was quite a good collection of sweet Pontiacs in attendance.
Your wagon sure looks fine. The times I was there, it had many admirers. It draws more of a crowd than your very serious looking drag car! Strange but true.

We'll have to all get together for a coffee sometime.... Garage tour ? I know Chris is always wrenching on something cool... Beaumonts, fire breathing Trans Ams ...etc. Or we could all meet at Johns work and dig out some trim pieces for Chis's wagon.
It was a pretty good day other than a little rain. Surprisingly I managed to make it home without getting wet.
The picture of my car is further proof that my 20 year old rad has finally let go. It's dribbling a little. Maybe time for a nice aluminum one.
Gary

Cause of the rain I only showed up around 4:00 but still saw some nice cars. I really liked Chris's beaumont wagon, that's a cool vista roof on it. Carl, glad you found that 65 Canso SD, I like the colour and that strato chief is very cool lookin.
The tube 1969 beaumout green with lite green inner fender was a Hamilton car, one owner built by Dan Henderson of Henderson Restortion 10 years ago!. Nice too it still alive !!!!
That sounds like a good idea Garry, if Carls in town sometime you could swing by if you like.Whatever works.I did notice more looks with the wagon than the T/A, maybe cause the T/As been around so long already.Thats cool with me though ,I like working on the wagon over the T/A.Thanks for the compliments.
Ill go if I don't go to the dragstrip with the wagon.Wanna see what it'll do with the bottle on.Was at Motion yesterday on the dyno .Made 394hp on the motor and 500 on a 175 shot,to the rear tires.Should run an 11 something I hope.Be fun if it don't break.
