1957 Pontiac Dog Dish wheel covers - comparison w/pics

I have been searching for a set of dog dish hub caps for my 57' Laurentian, and found a total of 1 at the Barrie Fall Swap meet.  These suckers are proving to be hard to find.

I already had a set of american caps, so I took a few pictures and measurements.  Here they are:

This is the American cap (left) and the Canadian cap (right) side by side.  You can see the larger diameter of the canadian cap.

This is a very nice US cap.  Even has most of its original paint. Notice that the chrome ring around the outside of the cap is not as wide as the canadian cap.

This is the one canadian cap I have found.  Its beat up and dirty, but you can still see it looks nearly identical to the US cap, with the exception of diameter.

This is the rear of the caps.  The American is still on the left.    The canadian cap uses the Chevrolet style of mounting where the cap slips over the hub ring on the rims.  The US cap is held on by a series of clips that are located on the inside of the hub ring.

This is the rear of the american cap.  You can see its 8" inner diameter and the lip that the clips on US pontiac rims clip to.

This is the canadian cap.  Its inner diameter is 10.25" and its completely open in the back.  This is because it slips over the hub ring on the rim and doesn't use clips for retention.

The canadian one I have is pretty beat up, but can be saved.  I only need to find 3 more.  Until I find them, I am going to run mid 60's dog dish caps on my car.

I'll try and get a better pic of them, I have to go to where the car is stored. Price? I dunno, whatever you think they're worth to you. But, let me get some pics of them to make sure they're what you'd want.

Heres a couple pics of the ones on my car, I didn't make it over to the other car today.. The strip where it says pontiac, is (was) painted white originally, but is worn off.

Hi Rick there is a guy here in Manitoba that said he is pretty sure he has some . Here is his email address belair@mts.net if you send him a pic of one he can check for you. And here is his web site http://www.callingallcars.ca/index.htm. I also know a guy who had 22 57 Pontiac's at last count but I wasn't able to get a hold of him . Let me know how it goes with Lother and if he doesn't have any I will try this other guy again,

Those are the same caps I have on my car at the moment. I also have a couple of 60' caps.

I haven't found anymore 57' caps yet. They are proving to be hard to find.
