Hello All. My 67 beaumont gauge cluster bezel is chrome around the outside edge and where the ashtray is there seems to be a piece missing. My ashtray is the same color as the metal part of my dash but is recessed and it just looks like something should be attached to the front edge of the ashtray.Could anybody comment on this if im missing a part, and if i am does anyone have this part. Thanks for any input.

Hi
It is a thin piece of rubber that attaches to the front edge of the ashtray-about an 1 /8" thick.Once it is on it will level out the ashtray with the rest of the dashboard
Thanks for the replies. So its supposed to be the same color as the metal part of my dash.I have the rubber strip on the inside edge of the tray.Just looks like it should be chrome to blend with the bezel trim.
There are 2 different styles of inserts for 67 beaumonts. On the one, there is a metal(chrome) filler strip for the ashtray to butt against, it screws on the the cluster. The other, the filler strip is part of the cluster, and the ashtray just butts against that. Either style uses the same ashtray. I will try to take a pic at some point to show the diffesence. I'm thinking early/late production. My 2 67's have both styles.

MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH. The other one has a longer roof.
the chrome curved portion of your dash is supposed to be flat black, only a small strip (the one that runs over the ashtray is left chrome... the ashtray just butts up to it, with a rubber bumper edge... its too bad that plastic chrome deteriorates esp. along the bottom edge, has anyone had theres replated? or do they make a repro?
the bezel face is a dark bluish colour, the curved part thats painted outside of the chrome edge is the dash pad colour -in my case flat black (kind of a more course finish to the touch)...
dave, do you know if the radio delete plate would have ever matched the dash colour (dark blue) or was it black since its a different material??
My low mile Gramma car i sold this past spring had the Delete plate a dark black compared to the surrounding dash(blueish). Considering it was a time capsule of sorts, i'd say the delete plate is supose to be a darker shade. As for the ashtray difference here is a close up of the above mentioned car. Hope the pic loads(never done it before?) I'll try to get a good close-up of the winter beater 67 in the morning. I think all 3 of my 67s have the later style ashtray trim, but i will see if i can get another pic to compare it to. Has anyone else ever noticed the 2 styles of ashtray trim surrounds on early vs late 67 beaumonts? I hadn't till last year.
To note what john mentioned, both styles use the black rubber strip as he mentioned above. Regardless of style the ashtray itself is the same for both.
keen eye for that detail dave! ...my car is #382 (which i suppose makes it early), and the chrome bezel is all one peice... i wonder if the lemans/gto guys had the same change in their dash clusters?
Here is the winter car ashtray. Car was built march(so the late version). you can see that there is a separate metal trim part that screws to the dash housing. My early built car has the one that andrew is describing.
