It looks like something to do with the temperature setting. I haven't tried the electricals on that car, I need to hook up a battery...didn't come with the car. Also, the back passenger seat as a cool feature, rear power windows with ashtrays and individual lighters provided...talk about luxury !
I'd get the docs on the car first before you do anything. That's just my 2 cents though. This is from a guy who has seen sooo many B bodies get parted. We won't hate you if you part it though.
I take a beating all the time for buying a car and just flipping it for profit. I like to think I support the hobby by pulling things out of garages that will never get to see daylight with the current owner and sell it to someone who'll enjoy it-the benefit-I feed my family. Guess anybody would do the same as me given the oppourtunity-just I'm not as greedy when it comes to profit. Shame to part them-often I've had cars that would have brought many more $ if parted and sold them for little profit to a dreamer who might build it. Just sold a black/black 400 4-speed, hurst hatch, A/C, PHS documented 77 TA SE complete that would have brought a lot more $ in parts.
Same way I sold my Super Duty T/A. I could likely have made at least another 5 grand, if not more. However, how could I part out a matching numbers Super Duty, even if it's a beater?

Now I feel real bad, My first intention was to keep the 455 4bolt mains shortblock for myself and sell the rest to pay bills, my 1972 Lemans restoration, and support my family and needs. Pascal P.S. Carl, Where did your 74 SD ended up and how is it becoming if you know ?
He's working away on it as money permits. He has spent a lot stocking up on as many NOS pieces as he can. He also bought a very solid donor car for cutting out floor pans, frame rails etc. It will be a while yet, as it's a father/son project.

ITS ABOUT THE MONEY ! do what you need to do-part it, scrap it, sell it to a builder-whatever-make some money and look for the next one-its only a car !
Bottom line is, it's your car and you can do what you want with it. You can drive over it with the biggest Caterpillar you can find if you want, and nobody has a right to whine because they didn't find it and buy it!

Anyway, It makes me happy to restore, search, part out cars, tinker, turn wrenches...It's my hobby and I love it, I also love helping somebody else with the part they need to complete their restoration and so on, Pascal. P.S. Carl, Is the 74 SD still in Canada ?

Yes, it's in Winnipeg. I had a buyer lined up in Tennessee but he had some struggles for a while, and in the meantime our dollar gained so much it put it totally out of range for him to buy it.
I would say more but the buyer prefers to remain fairly low key about the car until it's on the road. Also, he is scared if people know he is building an SD455, they will hose him when he buys parts!

Ken is right. My only advice was to get the docs on the car and see how rare it is. Then decide to sell it whole or part it. If you part it, I see some nice bits I'd like to have! Todd
I would say its a rare. Do any of you guys use nada? to find the car prices, I searched the 1970 Bonneville convert with the 455 engine and air conditioning. It came up with these prices Low- to high value TOTAL PRICE $9,458 $15,860 $26,780
I think the gizmo is some sort of a pump to keep the air shocks inflated. It looks just like the one that was on my 56 Chev. I can't remember exactly how it worked (it was 25 yrs ago, though I still have it somewhere), but it definitely pumped up the shocks
If you decide to part the car I can also see a few things I'd be interested in for my 69 Parisienne, which has the same color interior. Let us know what you decide to do with the car.
Don't feel bad about wrecking out. How else do you get the funds to redo the Lemans. I also wrecked a few cars which pays for my hobby. My wage goes to the family not Pontiac's. Pascal you didn't tell me it was an A/C car. Send me a pm I want that system if we can make a deal. I'm sure it will fit my GTO.
GPARIS-This car has the rally cluster. Mark posted how to rewire the Canadian cluster plug to work with this cluster. I installed it in mine and it looks great (bit of a bugger getting it out but the results look good!)
I pulled the carpets off tonight and some of the front floor plugs to let the water out, this car is unbelieveably rusty, trunk floor is hanging down... what a stench ! What makes the dash a rally cluster, I thought it needed an RPM gauge ? Tonite, I hooked up a battery to try the power window motors and convertible top motors, bench seat...everything still works.
