I think these are accessory covers that go over top the existing upholstery. I had a set like that for my 54 Chevy. Very retro cool!

don't get fooled, these are just NOS canadian tire style seat covers available back in the late 60's/70's.  nothing special, they would probably fit any 2dr bench seat car.  They just slip over the existing seats.
I have an axact same set for a 53 chevy.  Kind of neat, but tacky too.

I think these are neat. I would never have considered something like this back in the day but now this sort of thing really adds to cars when I see it at cruise ins.

I agree with 73SC.  I actually have a set of these for 55-57 Chevies.  They are quite intricate in design and would work both on work in progress cars with less than perfect seats until you could get them recovered with correct material or even to protect your "perfect" covers on fully restored cars.

What colour are your 55-57 seat covers and do they fit 2dr or 4 dr.  I would be interested in a set if they were blue. The seats in my 55 Laurentian are original and in very good condition but it would be nice to protect them with a set of covers.  Al

Dave, that's the neat part. They are very nostalgic.

I remember our 62 Acadian wagon having those clear plastic seat covers. Seems to me they had a star design on them. Boy, were they cold in January!

I had a NOS set from 1954 on the seats of my 54 Chevy. They went over top the old upholstery but used hog rings to secure them.

Sorry Al, they are green.  It appears they are for a 2 door with a splint bench in front.  They are really quite nice, I'm amazed at how intricate the pattern is.  They look almost like they could be factory installed.
