Nova Cadillac (78 Seville)

I hated these when they first came out but after reading a good article in Collectible Automobile a few years ago I changed my mind. The 76-8 Seville was actually a pretty good car with 350 Olds power and fuel injection that I believe was pretty reliable. Heck, toss the 350 and drop a 455 Olds and have fun. I would assume aftermarket Nova suspension components etc would fit this car. Add a Tremic 6 speed and you'd have quite a car!
Heres a guy selling one decent one (lose the Rolls grill though) with a couple of parts cars for $1500. It even has factory 8 track and CB!
Cars are here in Ingersoll. I haven't seen them in peson however.

Friend of mine in Florida had several of those.  They are pretty good reliable cars.

Appparently when tuned right they got decent hwy mileage- about 25mpg. That's better than my 4 banger S10..

Electric gremlins usually kill all the fun with these old Nova's, I mean Cadillacs! I've always liked them, until I start looking too closely. The F.I. system can be trouble, but change to a 4 bbl. cures that. The car is sitting on North Town Line east of Thames st. Go check it out Todd.

Boy, if you can, get a 94-96 Fleetwood so you get an LT1. 60 more horsepower than the throttle body and just as good or better on fuel compared to the TBI 93 and older.

I would love to trade our Roadmaster on a Fleetwood, but there is almost no LT1 Fleetwoods around here and they are real expensive when they do come up.

It's a 93 Carl, Not having the LT 1 is about the only draw back. If you saw this car you would be amazed. It must have come in on a trade and knowing they had the big Cadillac show coming they must have kept it. I'm kicking myself for not moving on it this afternoon. I'm calling first thing in the morning and going to see it if it is still there. Luckily my office is just 5 minutes away. I know an LT 1 is preferred but if I can grab this for under $2G's I think that would be amazing. A 350 TBI is still a 350, stout and able and good for the long haul. I did forget to check on mileage but my son is saying 70,000 km.

We drove a 92 RM sedan for 3 years before this one. It was a beautiful one owner car, 80km when we got it, the car was immaculate. It had the trailer package (3.08 gear, air shocks, sway bars) so it was a perfect driving car. However, we bought our first Impala SS in 2000 and after that I knew we had to get an LT1 Roadmaster. We sold the 92 w/115km on it and moved down in miles (143,000km) to go to the Roadmaster we have now. It's the same fuel economy, or even a touch better.

With that said, a 70 km Fleetwood is hard to pass up for 2G. Nothing wrong with those TBI 350's either. Our SS automatic car (with a few mods) has been in storage for the last 2 years. We took it out a couple of weeks ago, and our 13 year old son put it best today when he said "I forgot how much I liked this car!" 3.73 gear, reprogrammed, K&N filter, sounds good, pulls nice, rides great, and it's a family car to boot!

Tough to beat B body, new or old!

Wow, great deal on the sedan! I wish I could be so lucky around here. Not many to pick from but I keep looking. Our 94 is up to 230,000km now and I am thinking I'd like to find a lower mile one to stash away for future.

I really would like a Fleetwood for the extra rear seat legroom. Our 13 year old son is 6 feet tall and still going strong. He is starting to need more room...

SHHHH, keep these B and D bodies a secret, otherwise everybody is going to want one......

Oh and yeah, I've had to do water pumps on 2 of our LT1 cars, and some brake work. Unreliable American cars!!!!

I hear you on the engine and appreciate your knowledge, but I was not looking for a car, it FOUND ME. My 19 year old is crazy for this thing, it is immaculate, all ready to go, dealer prep'd just like an Optimum Vehicle, you could eat off the engine.

I hate to sound like this but fuel consumption is not a factor even though my experience with my Cadillac is very good. The LT1 and TBI both have 300 ft lbs of torque, I'll drive it tomorrow but it doesn't bother me that Jr. would have 60 HP less. If you have kids who drive you'll understand. Heck I might park the Deville and use he Fleetwood for the winter.

If we wanted a few extra ponies I am sure the dual exhaust system from a 94 and up will fit and there must be a way to get it to breath better too, K&N at least.

Based on the prices posted I could even flip it and have Christmas covered.

Last thing is my son is 6'2" and I am 6'1". He got in and adjusted the driver seat for his driving position. I got in the rear seat behind him and crossed my legs. Try that in a Camry!

I'll let you know what happens.

Perfect car for  a 19 year old.

We are starting to look for a car for our son who will be 14 next week. It's either a rear drive 80's Cutlass/Regal or a B body from the 90's. Not sure where he got the B body idea! wink.gif

Todd

These B/D body cars from the 90's are the best investment ever for a daily driver, I am convinced. They drive great, handle great (except the Caprice is kind of mushy but that's easy to cure), they are good on fuel, the trunk will haul 4 tires plus the full size spare, they are safe, bla bla bla. There is really no good reason other than a space problem why you would not want one.

I drive a 6 speed B body 24/7/365. How much more fun can it get in a daily driver? When we want to go to the city (1/2 hour ride) we pack up the family in comfort in it, and the trunk hauls all the groceries and hardware we ever buy. Plus I get to have some fun driving the 6 speed in the city, more fun that being out on the open highway like it usually is.

Congrats!  That car was so cheap you could have put the whole thing on VISA!  So what did it need to be certified?  Passed emissions with flying colours?

It already passed e test. They are selling it as is. I took it for a 40 minute run, up the DVP, it has a rock solid ride, no shakes in wheel , brakes seemed fine, everything works including the AC. The 350 TBI has plenty of power, but it won't win any drag races, but that's not what it is for. As is typical with these cars the old couple who drove it never hit the floor with the gas pedal. A few WOTs and some throttle body cleaner, maybe some plugs will perk it up. It idled so smooth you couldn't hear the engine.  I offered him $1700 and he went back to confirm sale and do the paper work, I offered him my Visa but he said just provide a personal cheque when he delivers it probably later today or tomorrow morning.

My hunch was right, Michael Carmichael said they won't loose a new Cadillac deal by not taking these old boats in trade so they dressed them up for the Cadillac show and put them out. They sold the Red 98 Deville that was there over the phone this morning to a fella in Kitchener.
