I couldn't wait so I went up at lunch and ran my Visa card through. Got the build sheet from GM Inquiry system. Build date November 9, 1992. First put in service date May 13, 1993. Selling dealer was City Buick Pontiac Cadillac, same one. Stating the obvious but she is out of Arlington Texas. Two pages of RPO codes, forgot to mention it has a nice slider roof. I see FE1 which is soft ride suspension...what else would it have! Only lists one warranty job done in 2001 to install an anchor plate for the child restraint, must have been a recall.
It will be delivered tomorrow afternoon to my place of work. That's Cadillac Service. I suspect he still made close to $1,000 on the car but it is a steal to me at $1,700 regardless.
I called my son and asked him if $1,700 was too much to pay, a little silence then "I don't think so Dad."
Me - "That's good because I just paid for the car"
Ryan - "No Way, No Way Dad!"
It sure made his day, I could see him smiling through the phone.

So are you adding this to the fleet or will this replace the Regal? Given the current parking "situation" on your street, where are you going to keep it?
Also, this should give you some extra incentive to pursue that storage scenario we were discussing yesterday. The one you said you were going to pursue "first thing this morning"?
So I guess they will just deliver it to your place with a 10 temporary tag or do you have to go and get that yourself? Hopefully your mechanic won't find anything that will blow the bargain basement acquisition cost out of the water...

Actually JB Racing will do the safety, he keeps it quiet only people he knows, so the car will go with dealer plates directly to Joe. He said he will keep it with the rest of his collector cars ( he's got about 15, another thread) until we put it on the road.
LeMans goes to garage, Buick to 65 Camino. No parking problem, Deville and GMC are happy at my place.
Anyway it hits the road when its ready, no rush. I am confident sir, I aready had it doing 120 up the Parkway, not even a shake, stops without a dip, kicks down nice, all mirrors lights and brand new tires in order.

You know I like driving it better than the Deville so I just may use it myself. I called an old friend who had several and loves Fleetwoods, former GM employee and he asked me what colour the interior was. When I said tan, he told me it was my lucky day. He's got a set of NOS mats with the big logo on them for me.

I am going to buy you a chauffeur's hat. I only want to sit in the back.

We'll all chip in and buy you a fedora and box of Kleenix to put on the package tray!
I actually own 4 fedoras Todd, one is an Indian Jones style grey, another grey traditional style, a summer light biege model mostly for golf and my "sombreo" from Bolivia in brown. You guys can still send the kleenex though.

Got me thinkin Caddi again, so I made a deal with my bro. Got his 97 Deville with North* and my old Acadian back on trade for my 80 Z28. I have had a lot of Cadillac's over the years. Starting with a 59 six window Sedan DeVille when I was 17. Then a 63 Eldo convert when I was 18, and so on thru the 70's. I took a lot of flak from my friends back then. Some of them called me Superfly. I always loved them big sleds as they seemed more dependable then the muscle cars I was buying. The fact is they weren't beat on as much as the usual junk I was driving!

Man, I would just about kill for a 63 Eldo vert, pure class. Reminds of a simpler better time, when you had made it in the world, that's the car you drove, not some yuppiemobile from Europe. And you are right, most Cadillacs, especially of that era, were extremely well cared for, dealer serviced, and not beat on. I don't think you can say that about every Caddy today, especially the CTS-Vs!
