Those Park Aves are great drivers and fairly economical. Did you know they share the Riveria/ Aurora platform, not the LeSabre? I never found that out till i had to get parts for my '98 last year. I' ve had 2 of them and they were both solid, well built sleds. The 3800 is a lot more economical than a same year STS or Aurora with North*'s You gotta be gettin tired of the the old S10 on the trip to London everyday!
A Park Avenue is a fine automobile. In my experience they rival and may even surpass Cadillac in ride and quality is on par. Having said that The Fleetwood is a pleasure to drive, I think I am giving up my N* Deville for it.
Yikes! You're going to let them loose with the N*? I thought the idea was to not give the juniors anything with too much horsepower so they couldn't get into any trouble...

You are starting to sound like a typical B/D body owner. No other car exists after you buy one!

I know I'm over the top on this, but Carl is right. Maybe my tatses in cars ar from another generation but why GM went wrong is beyond me. My buddy who was in management at GM for 15 years says that GM is well known for perfecting a car only to cancel it.

So who gets to inherit the Deville?
I left it a home for the kids today.

No doubt the Deville is faster and more powerfull but the Fleetwood is no weezy 4 banger. I know those who have an LT1 swear by it, but it's hard to imagine that the car could run smoother and accelerate much better than with this L05. As I said very easy to burn rubber and engage the traction control.
I love the old 60's B bodies, but these 90's versions are such wonderful cars. Good mileage, very durable, easy to fix, lots of power, as stated they run excellent. And they are very affordable these days as Ray can attest to. I still don't like him much for buying that car so cheap!!!

What is Joe's schedule for being open on Saturdays? Is he open this weekend or next?
Hillar, Joe also has an Elvis tribute band and they have a gig tonight so not opened tomorrow. If he has a gig on Friday no Saturday. I will check his schedule and advise.

This car reminds me of my uncle's 67 Deville actually, colour combo and roof lines. I just got back form my old GM buddy's and he drove it. He had a raft of Flettwoods and Park Avenues and he loved it. Came away with two sets of GM logo'd mats and a CD player from a Park Avenue.
Thanks to member eeluddy (Earl) I have a 103k 2000 Park Ave Ultra in my driveway for an extended test drive to work and back tomorrow. It's for sale at a local lot. I'll also do a pre-safety on it. All the toys work and it rides like a Buick. Anyone need a reliable S10? Anyone? Hello?..

Write the cheque. A lttle known fact, there was a Park Avenue trimmed Cadillac in the sixties. There was one a the show last weekend. Is that car supercharged?
Yes it is. Boy, these cars have depreciated. A same year Toyota Echo is selling $2900 higher! Scary for a car that sold for 12 grand new vs. over 50 grand for the Park Ave. According to the EPA, this car is rated at the EXACT same MPG as my 92 S19 2.5 5 speed! This one is loaded except for Sunroof, heads up display, 6 pack CD a d rain sensing wipers. The car runs/drives fine other than tires that vibrate. We'll see what the safety results are.
And aren't we lucky, makes them affordable. Heck I have two Cadillacs in my driveway, guys my father's age are beside themselves, that's a dream they could never have.
I just had to show my wife the dealer invoice for the Fleetwood. After riding around in it all night she turned to me and said:
A lot of people just don't equate big GM iron with European or Far East brand cars. I'm ok with that. Their lack of knowledge keeps these cars cheap! Does anyone really believe a 2000 Buick Park Ave is not as well built as a 2000 Toyota econocar? Let it stay a secret as far as I'm concerned.
