This car has 188,500 klms. NorthStar 4.6. Original paint, runs & drives very nice. Cold A/C, heated seats, etc. I will Safety Check and E-test for Now at$2500 or best offer. d by eeluddy at 11:06, 2008-10-12
My kind of car! If you have never driven a Northstar Cadillac all I can tell you is that this is a muscle car in a tuxedo, these things are fast. 0-60 in 7.5 & 1/4 in 15.3 which is as faster than the original muscle car.
Here is an excerpt from the original 1964 GTO optioned Tempest in Motor Tend:
Our best run netted zero to 30, 45, and 60 mph in a wheelspinning, rubber-burning 3.7, 5.6, and 7.7 seconds respectively, while the hot Tempest turned the quarter-mile in 15.8 seconds, hitting a high 93 mph as it crossed the marker.
Here's a review from Edmunds:
This was my first luxury car. It had phenomenal acceleration, which was shocking considering how heavy the car is. It was as fast as my GTO. It had plenty of interior room and was very comfortable. It also had an enormous trunk. It ran like a Swiss watch.
Hope this helps sell the car. I love mine! Good price too!
Should also mention that smoking the fronts is easy with Traction Control Off, it will even lay a 20 foot patch by the time the Traction Contol kicks in, just in case these things are important to you. Hard on the OEM $225 Micelins but fun. Oh and another thing the speed limiter is easy to hit on on ramps, comes on at 115 or 130 MPH depending on OEM rated tires.
For 2900 bucks you will be getting a lot more car than most of the five figure restored "muscle" cars we own.
Gentlemen, Thank you all for the endorsments !!!! I will drop it to $2300 to any member of Canadian Poncho or less as -is. I got the car from a Cadillac dealer , it was traded on a new one. These make a nice cheap driver.
Sold my Cadillac today. Sure seems like a lot of car for not a lot of money. Maybe it's just me, but I think a well looked after Cadillac is one of the best used car buys there is. This has turned into a nightmare! I took it for a Safety Check, needed rear rotors, muffler and a wheel bearing. Something happened to it while it was in the shop. Now it won't start due to F*&%#@# Theft system. It is now been towed to a local GM store where they still don't have it done and the bill is $750. What a waste of time and money!
