Anyone have some specs for the factory towing weights? Prererably for a wagon.Im sure a chevelle will be the same.Do you think the frame and suspension or the engine type dictates a higher capacity?Iv searched quite a bit online and none of the owners manuals or assembly books have this spec.Thanks,Chris.
I was curious ,not that it matters now cause Ive towed my trans am so many times already.I have air lift bags in the back and I use trailer sway bars, and that thing tows excellent.Ever try renting a trailer from uhaul? They want to know everything, its like buying a hose clamp from parts source or something,(what year, what make ,model ,2 wheel, 4 wheel etc)Finally I told them I was towing a 65 vw beetle with a chevy half ton and they still said the truck was not HD enough.Crazy.So thats what got me wondering about the factory weights.
I probably won't ever rent from U-haul; I had the same experience. I wanted to rent a trailer to tow a car 20 kms. I had an 05 Dodge Magnum RT with a 345 hp hemi and a factory Chrysler class 3 hitch. Because it didn't show up as an acceptable towing combo on their charts they wouldn't rent the trailer.
