MY BEAUMONT HAS 4 STUDDED TIRES AND 2 BLOCKHEATERS......AND LOTS OF OIL UNDERNEATH.  The other one has a longer roof.

the 1969 beaumont will have a minimum appearance change from the 1968 modle.all major body panels and surfaces will be retained.the change in appearance will be achieved through a new styled radiator grille,rear quarter end caps and new interior and exterior colours,trim and ornamentation.

the chassis and powertrain features will be basically 1968 carryover except for product improvements.


The sport deluxe model (73837) is being cancelled. The interior- exterior and mechanical features will now be included as part of 396v8 engine options L34 or L35

1969 front end ,body & decor

1.front end

hood            -carryover (same as chevelle)

front fenders   - carryover (same as chevelle)

parking lamps   -new (same as chevelle)in bumper
                           lens to be white

headlamp bezel   - new,one piece die-cast with emblem between lamps

radiator grille      -carryover die cast frame modified to remove  diamond  texture  at outboard ends .new elongated egg crate grille texture ,plastic with bright frame.

name plate       - new script on left side of grille




1A.  ENGINE EMBLEM      -  new emblems with bold numerals on all V-8s
                                           (same as canadian pontiac)

2. REAR END-regular styles

    Tail lights                - modified 1968 carryover with added centre lens.qtr panel extension modified in accordance with added lens and new rear bumper shape.

back up lamps        - new narrow rectangular design in body rear end panel,inboard of tail lamps.

rear bumpers  -    new ,same as  chevelle


DECOR:
           deluxe       - new script name on right side of deck lid,paint filled dark argent

           custom     -narrow die cast rt. and Lt. moldings on rear end panel,centre area painted dark argent.
new script name on right side of deck lid.

            Sport deluxe Option    - Samr moldings as custom except centre area colour to match black or white paint stripe on body side.
            -new sport deluxe emblem locaded on right die cast molding.
             -new script name on right side of deck lid.

3. REAR END- STATON WAGONS
              tail lamps   - same as chevelle

              back up lens  - same as chevelle   

      DECOR
              BEAUMONT   - new script namr ,(same as regular styles)on tailgate

              CUSTOM     -narrow die cast rt and lt moldings
(same as regular styles)on tailgate with new outer die cast extensions.

                                  -new script name (same as regular styles) located to be compatible with mouldings.



4. SIDE DECOR
              BEAMONT (available in station wagon only)
                   -carryover nameplate with nwe dark argent paint fill on front fender between door and frt. wheel openings
                  
           DELUXE  - carryover name plate(see beaumont)
-rocker moulding between wheel openings.same as chevelle.

          CUSTOM  - carrtover name plate (see beaumont)
                         -rocker moulding between wheel openings same as chevelle on 4 door styles only.
                          -body side moulding with extruded black plastic insert,(same section as 1969 chevrolet impala).full length on 2 door styles;on front fender $ front door on 4 door styles.

SPORT DELUXE OPTION-Paint stripe,available in black or white ,consisting of wide lowwer and two narrow upper stripes.narrow upper stripes carry forward and upward across rad.grille header panel.

- SD396 emblem ,die cast cut vinyl,located above paint stripe on front fender

-carryover wheel opening mldgs.front and rear.

U"P"C 1 -body

(1) (A)  the A body will have a minor facelift program with front end appearance changes,but with body and chassis being 1968 carryover.rear quarter panel end caps will be modified to suit tail lamp design.

(B)  A new windshield header will be used except convertibles.

(C) all engines will have ner ornamentation ,trim ond colours ,armrest backplares have been removed from entire custom series.new cowl kickpads with duel controls on hardtop coupe and conv. styles.

(D) the c.v window will be removed on the convertible and hardtop coupe styles and high ventilation with a pressure relief system.

(E) new shaped keys wil be used in order to provide a key with improved feel with the column lock system.


(F) the front door inside locking rod knobs will be located forward.

(G) a new dual action tailgate model(36 and 46) will be standard equipment on custom wagon and as an option on the beaumont standard series.

(H) opt.A51 -bucket seats will feature a new centre seat back lovk to privide a more convenient location.
 
(I) padded windshield garnish mouldimgs will be replaced with sheetmetal mouldings as a interim 1969 change.



(2) body side ,quarter and deck lid moulding styling is shown on the pink decor sheets.
 


(3) (A) insrument panel will be revised to suit new steering column and will be as 1969 tempest design.

(B) a nwe beaumont nameplate will be used on all models in the same location as the u.s tempest nameplate.


(4) (A) opt.c60air conditioning will have  new compressor mountings,hoses and tubes to suit accesory drive system.

       (B) all air conditioning controls in the insrtument panel area will be same as U.S tempest design.


(5)  (A) the outside rear view mirror mounting on hardtop coupe and convertibles will be relocated due to removal of c.v window. the rectangular B car  mirror will be used on all models,replacing the former round style mirror.

(B)opt.d33 - remot control outside rear view mirror will have new styling.


(6)  option c08 -vinyl top is now available on all 4 door (69 styles)and 2 door coupes (27&37 style)


(7)opt.c50 -rear window defogger will have a new switch and wiring provisions.


(8) the inside rear view mirror will be new 12 inch wide design replacing the former 10 wide design.sunvisors will be revised to suit mirror.

(9)exterior paint colours will be the same as usrd on the canadian pontiac which ate U.S pontiac colours.

(10) front seat head restraints will become base equipment on all models ,head restraints for bench seat jobs wil be restyled.

(11) option A02 -tinted windshield is reinstated for 1969

(12)deluxe seat belt option will include new mini bucklr with automatic locking type floor retractor.

(13)the balanceof group is cayyover

5. hub caps and wheel covers

    hub caps          -1968 carryover with paint change to dark argent


   wheel covers    -(opt.p01 all models enc.SD 396)
                            1968 pontiac carryover with paint change to dark argent and new beaumont medallion with ruby red background.

                            (SD 396 only) new  Tempest with same madallion as above.



6. HORN BUTTONS    -same as chevelle with suitable beaumont identification.


7.SIDE MARKERS  - front and rear -same as chevelle. (plain type on front fender-void of engine designation)

U.P.S 5 engines

(1) (a) the 1968 engine program is carried  forward except for the following revisions;

-opt LM1 -350 cu in v8 (255hp) replaces opt L73 -327 cu in v8(250 hp)-replaced by option L65 in january 1969.

opt.L65 -350cu in v8 (250 hp) will be available interim 1969.


opt.L48 -350 cu in v8 (300hp)replacrs opt.L30-327 cu in (275 hp)

opt L35 -396 v8 (325 hp) and opt L34 -396 v8 (350 hp) will be available only on the deluxe 73427 -37 styles and will have all SD396 exterior and mechanicle features

(1)  front fenders will be 1968 carryover design -same as chevelle except for modifications to suit grill styling

(2) (A)fenderskirts will be carryover design ,but will be polyplastic material ,except on station wagon models  which will use steel skirts.
(B) radiator grille header panel(same as chevelle will be carryover 1968

(3)new engine emblems with bold numerals on all v8s(same as canadian pontiac.


(4) (a)hood panel will be 1968 carryover

(B) hood latch and lock will be 1968 carryover design

I was looking for a different thread and stumbled on this one. That is pretty interesting reading. Quite good especially if a guy is trying to figure out what is different (besides the obvious stuff) from 68 to 69.

clint and i found the 69 sd info the most imformative being on the rarity of that option,we for a time didnt even think it existed,for we had never seen one other than the brochure,it was because of this site that we first saw one.

I have said it before and I will say it again Fred. I don't know where you find all this stuff but thanks for sharing.
 I don't think after all these years that GM is concerned with news of the new 69 Beaumont "leaking out". Some of the information listed would have been helpful a few years ago when I was researching my car. There is information available you just have to know how to put it all together.
