Bought it new June 69 Hyview motors in Cambridge ON. Drove it on street for a year and a half ( no winter ). started racing it in 69 L/stock then started doing engine work. latest engine is a 355Cu inch 12:1 compression, crane .619 lift cam, 292 chev angle plug heads 64cc, Holley 750 double pump, hays 3200lb pressure plate and disc, mr gasket V gate, summers bros. front drive distributor, hooker headers, 12 bolt diff. with offset posi unit (reworked). When raced had 5.86 to 1 ratio zoom gears. Muncie trans ( nash sliders ). I built this latest engine in 1978 and has more power than old one that broke which ran high 11s , new one should run mid 11s or lower. stopped racing in '78
has 22328 miles on it now. detuned same engine and has been in and out of storage since 81. had no time for car ,kids growing up etc. now i owe it a new life. it is called the FBI

How are you doing ,we use to be called the Cambridge Bracket Racers back in the 70s . we had about 6 or 7 bracket cars (depending on who was not broken) Bob Schilling and even Bob Eliott (later Northern Force Funny Car)
raced with us ,then. We raced at St.Thomas,  Cayuga, also Toronto International(Geogetown) we were young and daring not old and daring ,like now. We had a ball ,but always had empty pockets. Nice to find some guys that like Ponchos  and Bow Ties ....Thanks   TonyM

RIGHT ON!    I've got to call my friend, down the street, and tell him the details.. We always talked aboutthat "bad ass' Pontiac!   We used to run, to the line see it go!! It was pulling the front wheel, in the days, before real sticky tires and trans brakes.. After seeing the spec's on the motor, and the GEARS!  No wonder it flew     wow wow   Carl

Wow, permanent tow bar points. A serious drag car with a history!
I'd say that car deserves the full frame off.

Agree 100% and the icing on that cake would be that it does it without big block torque. (and 1970's technology) Good job Tony!

Oh yeah, I love the tow bar brackets on the frame horns! My car used to have those too!

I must add to my comments about gear ratios etc. 118mph(117&change)was highest mph, on 60%alcohol+av gas mix which we tried for a few weeks too many problems to bother with, rpm went up and mph but et not much different.
usually114or115mph.Did Todd say he wanted to sponser a 69 pont ?(ha ha)

Tony  I was there, and it sounded like 10,000rpm  lol  Rememeber Capt Canuck Firebird at St Thomas?   When he staged ,it sounded like, he was on the "limiter", but he didnt have one!!  It sat there at valve float, and then launched   cool  like yours....   p.s. I have new MT 29.5x10.5-15 slicks I will give you, as a Poncho sponser gift..
