While most people remember the 1974 Hurst Olds Indy Pace Car, I have never heard of a '74 Pontiac Lemans Daytona Pace Car. Neat! I wonder what was under the hood? Seeing a left-hand tailpipe suggests that it is a dual exhaust car (I doubt it's a single lhs exhausted six). I wonder if it is a 400 4-barrel or even a smogger 455? You could still get a 400 4-barrel dual exhaust V8 with a 4-speed manual in 1974. It was the last year before the catalytic converter. At that time I figured I was witnessing the last of the new genuine dual exhaust cars. Who would have expected a performance renaissance in the late 80s and beyond?
You know, I have not been able to snap a picture of it and I certainly dont want to be the sort of person who snoops around in peoples private lives, but down the street from me is a 1973 Grand Am coupe with a 400 in a garage. It is literally buried under 4 feet of junk. It even has a set of 15x7 Honeycomb wheels on it. Lots of people diss the larger 1973-77 A-bodies but I do have a sort of soft spot for them. A Grand Am is a comfortable car with great instrumentation and handling for its day, plus a 400 at least.

And it's your good fortune that I was able to locate that picture one more time!!!
Now grab your snow shovel and get back to work. You're back home now, and there's work to do!!! I'm going to go outside, put the blade on the tractor and level dirt in our snow free yard........!!!!!
