My name is Steve and I live in Summerland BC where I work as a telecommunications tech. I was informed about the site by someone that read a classified ad I had posted on a local site, thanks gk. I love all things with wheels even though I dont get so much time to turn wrenches. My wife and I have three beautiful daughters who take up a lot of the free time (part time chauffer). We finally picked up the car that I have been trying to buy for the last eight years this last spring, it's a '62 Pontiac Laurentian Safari 4 door wagon. It only has 89,000 miles on it and is motivated by a 261 six with a recent HEI distributor, Fenton headers and duals. Other rides sitting in the back yard are '62 & '63 Pontiac 2drht's, '50 Chev torpedo 2dr, '51 Nash Cdn Statesman 2dr and a chopped '54 belair 2drht. Gonna have to pave over the lawn soon. Lookin forward to chattin', seein what everybody is up to and maybe picking up some tips.
Thanks for the welcome and no the wagon is still running stock suspension, the avatar is a little photoshop magic. Will post some more pics of the engine compartment soon, haven't actually taken any since headers and duals. Steve

Welcome aboard. I love the 62's. My grandfather had a white 62 2 door post (not sure what model-may have also been Laurentian) with red interior when I was about 5 years old. That wagon is sweet!

I've seen your wagon a couple of times, but you've been going in the opposite direction. I was intending to tell you about this site, but you've found it. Welcome. I'm driving a silver 95 Caprice wagon these days. If you see me, my name is John.
Thanks again guys and thanks Chuck for sending along the link to this site. I dont know why I haven't stumbled across this forum b4 but am pretty stoked to see one dedicated to the Canadian Pontiac. I first owned one in high school, my '63 Parisienne and I still have it today. I have also been pretty fortunate to be able to pick up a couple more Maple Leaf Ponchos since then and now that we have the wagon the whole family is lovin' it.
