62 strato chief

I saw this ad on kijjii for a parts car and drove the 2 hrs. to see, This is bad timing because i would pick this car up, It is a driver in the rough it needs cleaning up and the owner told me the frame needs work around the rear wheels area for saftey, it has 72 k on it. Steve the owner very nice guy and straight forward about the car, his dads who passed away a couple years ago keep the car pretty good.It was raining when i saw the car so did not go under it my self but if it does not sell by spring will pick up for the 1500.00 he wants. it is the durham area. 2 door ,2 speed 261. Tom

Is that body damage or poorly sculpted Bondo on the passenger door, rear fender area?

Does anybody else see the unbelievable amount of body filler on the rocker, quarter, and front fender. The front fender is bondoed to the rocker panel! 10 FOOT POLE on this one.

Does anyone make repop metal panels for these? Looks like it will need quarters, rockers, and door skins to straighten it up.

Thanks for the lead. Had a 73 Grandam 4 dr back in the early 80's 455 4 door white fully loaded except intermitant wipers. Sold it to a guy at work about 84-85 wonder if its still around?By the way nobody makes parts except rockers. However due to forward thinking ( I'm a pack rat) I have a complete fibreglass front clip and a solid pair of post doors for this car.Parts came off an old old drag car from the Caledonia area.Big block and a 4 link rear and you have the ultimate sleeper

Thanks, Bill.

I was looking at the ad "parts car" with no picture i did not think it would be this nice, yes it needs work but the car is complete, it does need body work but that is half the fun of owning a car. The timing is bad or i would grab it myself, if not hopefully someone here so it will not become a parts car Good Luck Bill. Tom
