Are any of the above mentioned 69 SD rags the yellow one from Winnipeg? I believe it's in the US now, maybe one of the Carolina's? It was originally a 3 speed manual.

Carl,
I own the butternut yellow car that was originally from the Winnipeg area,
so that one is accounted for.

Sorry, that was a misprint. Fat fingers again. Just goes to prove I need to proof read before I post.....

Yes, I mean the 68 that belonged to Chris. Thanks Bill, I figured I remembered that someone on here had talked about owning it now.

Hi Brian, my name is David Lewis, I sent you a private message about 5 days ago but I guess you didn't get to your messages yet, so I will post it here.

I also own an original 67 SD rag and I was wondering if you might share some info on your car.
Mine is a numbers matching 396/325 hp Turbo 400. It is Bolero red with black buckets and black top. It is a 73867 vin. You don't ever see cars like ours so I would like any info on the few that are remaining. Does your car have any rare options like power windows or power seats?
I know some people are very cautious about giving info out about their cars but I hope you will share in the joy of owning one of the rarest cars made in Canada.
Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you. David.

Sorry to interupt, but you did say "black top"..  It was white, and new in 1979  Carl

Hi Carl, you are partly right, when you owned the car the top was new and it was white but according to the GM documents the car was originally equipped with the black top. I was told that most people back then replaced damaged tops with white tops because the white material was much cheaper.

Would you mind posting a picture of your cowl tag and VIN? You can gladly block out the last 4 digits of the VIN. Same for the cowl tag. Block out all but the part that shows the 73667, A51 and the date at the top of the tag (like 2-10-27 or whatever it happens to be)

There are many of us on here itching to see a real live cowl tag opn a 736 A51 Sport Deluxe built early in the year. If you don't want to or know how to post that, if you PM me a pic of it I will block it out and post a revised picture of it for you, subject to your approval of course.

I e-mailed the previous owner of the project 67 sd 396 beaumont rag that sold on e-bay for $11,000 two 1/2 years ago from N.S. to see where it went. He replied it was promptly paid for but is still sitting in his yard awaiting pick up. I remember him starting the bidding at $4000 no reserve then telling me he sell it at $4500 I stopped for a second due to shipping etc... then it was bid on and he didn't want to end the auction, man had I known he would keep it around even a few weeks/months before I could arrange reasonable shipping-let alone two + years !!!

Hey Ken

I was the second highest bidder on that car.I emailed the guy who bought it several times wanting to buy it from him and he would not reply.I found 2 more 68 sd 396 cars in Manitoba( hardtops) one is a 4 speed 350 h.p. stick car and the other is a 68 red on red 350 h.p. auto car buckets console. Also trying to buy a 67 sd 396 sd car-with the stripe package-hardtop buckets console, red black guts, tinted glass remote mirror,tach,12 bolt posi,4 piston disc brakes. All the cars need full restos but are very complete-less motors and trans of course. The stripe car is 1 of 117 made-very very cool. There is also that 67 bb rag from the states that needs everything-red car 325 h.p. 396 powerglide-no title-originally from Ontario-he wants 14$ large for it.no motor or trans and needs everything.I am sure there will be quite a few good projects that will pop up from this state the economy is in right now-especially with our friends to the south.

John,

The red one in the States is the one in Ohio ?

yes they are coming out of the woodwork

not sure of the color of the 68 rag in St Anns-I'll check into that-just suppose to have been in a barn many years very rotton, would be surprised if there were more than one 68 SD rag in St Anns
