Great pics. I can't help but thinking of the opening credits to the movie Christine when i see assembly line pics from the late 50's. I'll bet there were a few "bad to the bone" 59 Chev's come off that line.

the day i brought my 59 home and rolled it off the tow truck my neighbour said christine!! I said that was not nice and he might of cursed my car. So about an hour later he said I should call it Stella cause of the trunk space(alot of room for bodies) so that has stuck and her name is stella. Now just after i painted it the matte black he said it should have a name like Laquisha or some sort of big african american womans name!! Luckily all my neibours like the car and when i start it up they all come over, even two guys from around the corner, its pretty funny.

Awsome!

Never seen any of those. In those days it seems they couldn't get the parts off the railcars fast enough! In some of the shots you can actually smell the plant if you try.

I wonder if my dads old 59' Biscayne was built there, lol? How many plants made the 59'?

Mark

I love seeing those engines with the exhaust manifolds painted the same as the block and the blue 6 cylinders too, really neat.
