1966 Acadian Canso 4 door

Went last night to look at car went this morning and my wife is now the proud owner of a 1966 Acadian Canso 4d. She drove a 65 when she was younger so I think she is pretty happy with this one. The guy was asking $600. But we got him down to $375. The quarters are rusty but other wise from what I seen the floors and trunk are pretty good. Has all the trim except for driver side front fender stainless and badge .If any one has extras they would like to sell let me know. It came with 5 hubcaps and back bumper has back up lights so it is the proper one . Thanks for telling me to check Carl 1. Here are a couple of pics i took with my phone will post more when we get it picked up

Cool, thanks for the shots Vern.

I can't help you with any 66 trim unfortunately. I will sure keep my eyes open for it though.

Hope you're taking notes guys, this is how it's done winnipeg style! biggrin

Seriously though, It's great to have a site like this where so many of us are prowling the local classifieds and helping others out by posting our findings.

Congrats on the car!

Great score. A $375 Acadian here in Ontario would look like this:

Right On!!!!!

Glad to see it is a different car.  Great deal.  can't wait to see it.
I have a stack of those hubcaps if you ever need any
I have a pair of those canso emblems.  3 maple leafs and gold paint if i remember correctly.
Would like to keep them as a pair.  Know they are pretty rare
PM if interested.

Oh, Yeah.  i also have a MINT grill for 66.  Complete with original Maroon painted valence and center.  Been stored for about 35 years.
You get the local discount since it is too big to ship.

Just shows that it is not critical to have a 2dr if a "Moredoor" can look just as nice. It is easier to get into the backseat with a "Moredoor"!!!!! Ah! Yes! I remember it well!!!!
Love those hubcaps!

Got the car towed on Thursday . Took about an hour and had it running . Seems to run OK got a bit of a miss . Changed the oil and trans fluid . Frame , trunk and rear floor all solid some rust in front floor. Needs control arm bushings and a tuneup. Got fenders and quarters ordered. Sure hope 2d rear quarters will work. Some stores say yes some say no . Front ones will be here Monday . Rear quarters on back order

Guy I had a 67 Nova 4dr. the quarters on a 4 dr are shorter than a 2Dr. The 2Dr panels wont work. The full quarter panel replacement that includes the "C" panel, you'll find the "C" panel roof line is sloped forward for the 2Drs, and more standing upright for the 4Drs.

Good Gawd!  i hope you don't need to go up into the "C" pillar.  I'm sure you will find that the wheel arc and lower quarters are all the same.
Wagons may be different between the wheel and the bumper, but the coupes and sedans are all the same.
Order them up.

I wouldn't have thought a hardtop and sedan had the same distance wheel opening to bumper. Learned something AGAIN!!!

Im fairly confedent the will.  You can do a lot of cutting and fitting for the cost difference.
I know if it was a chevelle, it would be the same on 2 and 4 drs.
Can't see the novas being different lengths.
