Its ok, if we dont talk politics, BUT , if we can, what the hexx is going on, in the Capital??  We spend 300 million, on a election, we didnt need. Stephan Dion was ousted, and now -- they are going to, over throw the government !! cry  If they think, we might have a recession, is this not, putting us, in a position, for a depression?  Will the world, not laugh us out, of the global economy?.. Please tell me, everything is going to be alright    Scardy cat Carl...

It is scary and what's going on in our gov't isn't helping. Does this mean Dion will be the guy who travels to other countries as our "Prime Minister"?

Yeah, how stupid do we look as a country, Dion gets ousted from his party for losing the election and now they are talking a coup' d etat and making him Prime Minister? Is this Haiti or some bannana republic we got here? NEVER trust POLITICANS, they are all ego maniacs.

As much as I would love to rant against the opposition brainless.gif actions we are hearing about, instead I am going to enjoy beer.gifbeer.gif
I will be crying.gif if they succeed.

Unfortunately for them, the NDP wouldn't have much chance of forming a govt unless they did it in this way, ditto for the Bloc because of their one province focus. It's unbelievable that the PM will now be the guy who was rejected by the people 6 weeks ago, and was set to step aside. But perhaps the current govt forgot the lesson of history - minority govts have to foster co-operation - they cannot govern as though they have a majority. I'm not political, I just find the whole situation very odd and like 427Carl, I'm concerned that this is the wrong time to introduce this added level of political instability. But hey, what can any of us do about it ... at least until the next election?

Boy I'm glad I don't follow the news. Sounds like a big mess that there is no need to spend time listening to when there's work to do in the garage.

I guess we all better go to the garage..   They will wreck the country, and economy, without our help anyway.

Put the CBC on in the board room this afternoon. Looks like the gloves are off now. This is going to be a fight to the finish. History in the making and it's going to be bloody! fight.gif

It's gone from a coaltion to turn the economy around to a fight for national unity.

What a travesty of democracy, thanks Mr. Dion and Mr. Layton for hooking your wagon to the Separatists! What were you thinking??? Duh....clueless.gif

Write or call your MP, I sent messages by e-mail today to the Prime Minister and "Bucko" Layton. You can guess what each one said. biggrin

Don't for one minute think you can't be heard. How many guys on here are veterans? How many guys have family that fought in WWII or WWI ? We owe it to them to fight for democracy, they fought for us so we could!

The following quotes were sent to me today.

The opposition parties formed an unprecedented alliance on Monday in a bid to overthrow the Conservative government. But here is what they had to say about each other during the election campaign, just weeks ago:

NDP Leader Jack Layton on Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion: You cant walk away from 43 confidence motions where you supported Mr. [Stephen] Harper and claim somehow that youre now going to lead some kind of a progressive group. Its not on. People wont buy it ... His policies, your responsibility. ... If you cant do your job as leader of the Opposition, I dont know what youre doing running for prime minister.

Mr. Layton on Mr. Dion: I urge Canadians to also defeat Mr. Harpers best friend over the past year or so in Parliament - Stéphane Dion. Now, Mr. Dion is going around asking voters to do what he refused to do himself, which was to stop Mr. Harper. He says he wants Canadians to stop Mr. Harper, but Mr. Dion refused to stop Mr. Harper when he had the chance. We shouldnt give him our support now, because hell turn around and could very well do the exactly the same thing again ... I dont believe Canadians can have confidence in Mr. Dion since he was the one propping up Mr. Harper all this time.

Mr. Layton on Mr. Dion: Stéphane Dion and the Liberals have run such a confused campaign ... theyll be spending the next two years wondering what went wrong and fighting amongst themselves.

Mr. Layton on Mr. Dion: When it comes to the environment, I do have a few words for my Liberal colleague [Mr. Dion], and that is that his carbon tax proposal is wrong, that it wont work, and that he knows it.

Mr. Dion on Mr. Layton:Mr. Layton does not understand the economy. I cannot think that Canadians will give their support to a man who will kill jobs everywhere in the country in raising the corporate tax ... If you were worried about your savings, your pension, your mortgages, if you are worried about your jobs, then think twice before voting for Jack Layton.

Mr. Dion on Mr. Layton: The NDP can promise you the moon. But they are trying to buy your vote with Monopoly money. They want to pay for all their promises by increasing the burden on our economy. Jack Laytons old-fashioned socialist mentality is as backward as Stephen Harpers conservative ideology ... I have no lessons to learn from Stephen Harper or Jack Layton about how to balance a budget.

Mr. Dion on Mr. Layton and his controversial election candidates:I understand he has a coalition with the nudist party, with the marijuana party, and maybe now with the Sept. 11 conspiracists party.

Mr. Layton on the Bloc Québécois and its leader Gilles Duceppe: Its time to move past the Bloc and choose change for Quebec.

Mr. Duceppe on the possibility of supporting a minority government led by Mr. Dion: That would be a bit like writing political fiction. Its against our nature, we are a sovereigntist party.

Mr. Duceppe after Mr. Dion asked that a question on the economic crisis be repeated three times during an interview with an English-speaking television reporter: The real question is that I think [Mr. Dion] understood the question. The real problem wasnt the language, it was the substance. He had nothing to say.

Ive always said the biggest problem is we don't pay enough. Any one with enough brains to be a good pollution gets payed triple any where else and they don't have to put up with the crap. When I watch our members of Parliament it reminds me of a bunch of kids in kindergarten class. They all stand there and yell at each other with no respect . This would not be tolerated at any work place . If you tried that on a construction site some one would hall of and punch you in the head.

Now you're talking, how a bout a Texas Death Match, first Dion and Layton, winner takes on Harper. Last man standing is PM. I just ignore that Pr1cK Duceppe, not worth fighting for.

Sounds like Louis Riel has risen from the grave. It won't be long before the Queen comes for a visit. They should put them all in a room and turn out the lights for 10 minutes.

I also sent a letter to the Governor General this morning as well urging her to say YES to democracy and reject the separatist coalition.

You can do it too:   info@gg.ca

Sounds a heck of a lot like in South Africa with Thabo Mbeki (Roving President) and Jacob Zuma (Public Multi-Bigamist) at each others throats. The best is to sit back and watch them destroy each other!

With all due respect Johann, you have made the point better than anyone here ever could, comparing Canada with South Africa.
