I use jackstands and put pie plates upside down inbetween the stand and the car, seems to keep the mice out, they can't climb over the pie plate. I live in the country so there is lots of mice around, been storing the car like this for 10 years and no mice.

Since its time to store car again,(already done) I was reading about the pie plate under the stands?

I can't believe, a mouse can't climb over it?    They seem to get to higher levels, in my small shed?

Carl, I've never tried it, but it might work.
Look at those "squirrel plate-thingies" that you put on the pole of a birdfeeder to keep the squirrels out of the feeder. I don't know?

I always put a small trickle charger on my car over the winter. It keeps the battery from sulfating. I also start it once a month and use one of those "dry-z-air" RV moisture traps for the interior. You can get them from Cambodian Tire....Seems a little early in the year for this thread.

I usually just back into the garage. Sometimes I've disconnected the battery. Start it in the spring and drive it out. Going on 25 years and no problems.

Same here, with the exception of disconnecting the battery.  (This year will be the first year that I will disconnect the battery, add stablizer and some bounce sheets.)  I put a cover over the car, leave the roof up and the windows down then do a oil change first thing in the spring.

Assemble in this order....garage floor, jack stand, pie plate, car frame.  It really does work.  8 years for me.

JEEZ come on there's still 2 mths. of driving time left, not even thinking of "puttin her away YET"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Booking my spot for the DOO WOP show in West Virgina next week for Oct. 7th to the 10th. Expecting 1000 + cars this yr. My Classic Car has done 2 shows from this show. After that I'll put the 64 to Bed & hope to have the 52 back home for work over the winter. Think I'll hit the the 7000 mile mark on the 64 for this summers driving!!! Anybody else near that ?????

Pete;  We have the Zurich Bean Feast tomorrow 1200 cars) and the cruise night in Goderich next week (I am away to N.B.)  and thats it!

(I outdid my self this year, I went over 125 miles in Pontiac, and have put  110miles on new Mustang since end June )

We were discussing this today, and looks like we need to rethink, our use(or no use) of our resources...   Time to sell the RV trailer, and cars, and go in another direction..   Sad to think about, as cars have been a big part of our lives, but things change....

All I do is fill the gas tank and add stabilizer. I don't even cover the car. If I'm out in the garage during the winter I dust it off with my Swiffer.
I change the oil in the Spring, check everything over (I was bad this year and didn't check the brakes...), charge the battery and away I go.

Sorry to hear that Carl, thats a hard thing to do, guess my driving makes up for alot of others too that don't put the "miles" on, I only hit the 7000 mark once before & that was the 1st. yr. I got the Catalina[2002] before that it was usually 4500 to 5000 on the street rods or street machines I've always had!!!  Be lost with no TOY for the summer cruise's & car shows. Doing a run to St. Jacobs the 1st. wknd. in Oct for a get away with about 6 other couples, then to West Virginia the following weeknd. doing that one solo as my friend Brian & his Cutlass rag top can't make it, nor can the wife, lots of C/Ds cause you don't want to hear me "try" & sing my way there & back!!  Stouffville car show coming up in Sept. at NOVA PHARM building, huge show nice setting on their lawns & TONS of cars & trucks show up for this one, be there early or you'll be "way down the back"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winter storage? No problem! Just come on down to Florida and I'll drive your car a few miles a week for you, then come back and pick it up for the summer!
