Challenger

On the way to work I saw a black 09 Challenger. That is one sweet looking car. It's a damn shame if Chrysler collapses. I wonder what will become of all the tooling to produce them? China? Donwong Challenger? cry

I think they are great looking. I want one, but gotta wait til the Charger is paid for. I was out to the local Dodge dealer last week they have a metallic red one priced at $30,000. 3.5 V6 has 250 hp. That should probably beat a lot of old muscle cars! If I was in a position to get one, I'd order the 6.1 with 6 speed stick in Hemi orange.

yeah, they are nice lookin, i see truck loads of them just about everyday before they head to windsor to get the decals put on them. If you like the charger with how it drives and the interior then you'll like the challenger.

We see quite a few in TO, I even saw a black one in Palm Beach too. I think 65Camino's boss has one on order.

Still think a 69 charger recreation would be nice. I think a picture of it jumping through the air would sell it.

They are coming out with a B5 blue "Spring Edition" model that we are about to order. As soon as we hear that we can. He is getting an SRT8 version. I am contemplating an R/T track pak one.

That's if Chrysler is still around in the spring! A Chrysler dealer told me last week they are having problems with the build on Challengers as parts suppliers are going under and not filling orders. The six speed transmission factory (Getrag?) is closing up as well as a few others struggling. These cars may become instant collectibles to the Mopar enthusiasts if that happens.

This has to be about the worst Christmas (can I still say that word?) ever for automobile employees... Talk about uncertainty.

I picked up a paper copy of this already but here is the 2009 American Challenger brochure (don't know if any Canadian ones are available yet).

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-dodge-challenger-brochure/

It is a great brochure and I love the way they feature the old Challengers - I hope GM is smart enough to do that with the Camaro.

Make mine a R/T Classic in B5 Blue with the Trac Pac option.  I think the R/T with the variable displacement motor is the best bang for the buck.  SRT-8s may be cool but I know some people who have them and they are TERRRIBLE on fuel.

Thanks to the clout Earl has at the local Chrysler dealer, I managed to get a Challenger brochure (VERY nice!) and Earl also gave my son a ltd edition baseball cap that he has proudly hanging on the wall in his room.

Hey Carl. I'll see if I can scrounge one for you next time I'm out for service.

I'm sure they will come out with those colours in time, if they sell enough orange and blue ones.  They were not going to originally offer blue on the new Camaro SS but enough people protested so they added it to the available colours.  Power to the people!

Ya, they did those colours on the Chargers, just a matter of time. If they don't close down first.
