That's what Environment Canada is calling the winter storm that's on it's way for tonight with a second storm coming Sunday. This is just great. I've sold my S10 to a guy in Timmons. He is hitching a ride tomorrow to Toronto and taking the train to London. He is then cabbing it to my work for lunch hour and I am taking him to the license office to get his plates etc. He is then going to cool his heels until 5pm and I am to drive him to my place. He is then taking the truck to Niagara on the Lake where he is spending Christmas with his family. So I wonder how that's all gonna work out (up to 50cm forecast for the Niagara area)..
I hope you sold him the "extended warranty" and the 'upgraded Snow Tire Pkg. Snows are available at the reserve (alrady mounted).... Show him the 401, and tell him to keep in "hard left" lane no problems
I'm doing a late Friday night run to Buffalo Airport and flying my kids out on an early Saturday flight to their mother's in California for Christmas.. I tried to get my ex to fly the kids down on her broom but no cooperation as usual..
I'm taking my girlfriend's Caravan w/ the 4 Blizzaks so wish me luck fellas..

Canadian Poncho shovelling party at my place starts tomorrow!
Haven't you bought a snowblower yet? I was hoping to borrow it !! Looks like I'll be driving the Avalanche for the weekend. I was going to my brother's in Belleville to pick up the Canso, but that's been scratched.
They said the same thing for Toronto but I never believe those idiots at environment Canada. I use the weather channel and find that to be much more accurate. They are calling for 5-10 cm tomorrow and the same on Sunday so total accumulation could be as little as 10cm over 3 days - hardly anything to get worked up about.

I'm with you Hillar, they always uses these scare tactics for what? I think it is some way of makeing themselves self important to society. Last week they blew it too, we were waiting for a huge dump and it rained.
Seems they are right about 50% of the time, I wish I could pull that off at my job and keep it!!
I sure hope you guys are right and the Buffalo run goes smoothly...still would've been great if the ex had've flown the kids down on her broom though..

..Let it snow..Let it snow...Let it snow some more..
A series of snow storms continues to target southern Ontario. A winter storm warning is in effect for a Colorado low on Friday. It will result in significant snow and blowing snow in a swath from the southwest through the Golden Horseshoe.
An equally significant storm also emerging from Colorado will come quick on the heels of the Friday storm. It will affect a much Broader area including ski country and all of eastern Ontario including Ottawa. Heavy snow and blowing snow will arrive Saturday night from the southwest to the Golden Horseshoe and north to Georgian Bay. Heavy snow will rapidly spread east across all of eastern Ontario including Ottawa Sunday morning. It will ease off somewhat during the day Sunday in southwestern sections but should continue Sunday night over eastern Ontario. Total accumulations of At least 10 to 20 centimetres are likely in many regions stretching from Windsor to Toronto to Ottawa. There may even be some thunder and lightning with this storm accompanied by snowfall rates of 3 cm per hour for awhile. Travel may be particularly difficult once again due to strong easterlies and blowing snow which will swing into the northwesterly direction later in the day. Lake-effect flurries and snow squalls may develop late Sunday enhancing snow amounts in ski country.
Yet another round of snow from a new Colorado low is likely Tuesday night into Christmas eve. It is not as intense as the Friday and Sunday storms but a general 5 to 10 cm of fresh snow is not out of the question.
The cumulative effects of these storms during the pre-Christmas travel week can have significant impacts. Fresh snowfall amounts of 50 cm are quite possible in some areas by Wednesday. Folks are strongly urged to adjust travel plans accordingly if possible and stay tuned to Environment Canada for further weather updates.
Listen for further statements. Additional information may also be found by consulting the latest public forecast. The next public forecast will be issued by 5 AM.
I have a nice sheltered spot in my backyard unaffected by wind. I think I am going to stick a ruler in there tonight and do my own audit of environment Canada efficiency!

Hillar, a ruler isn't going to do it, they are saying 50cm by next week, better get a yard stick or isn't that metre stick?
Hi Ghost Post. What's the story that goes along with that pic you have for your avatar. All 4 wheels are off the ground, it's been driving me crazy ever since I started coming to this site. Leo

If I recall correctly, that was a road test of a 64 442 that was done by Car & Driver magazine back then, and they got it airborne on a race track for the photo.

Rush hour in Toronto and not a flake has fallen yet, now they say in about 30 to 60 minutes it will start coming in, so by 9:00 am we should see something.
