RE: windshield removal, no tools !!!

I just recently took the front and rear windows out of my car. We cut a broom handle into two 6" pieces and drilled a one eighth inch hole in each. A piece of wire, whatever we could find, preferably about the same as piano wire, was threaded through the one handle and a hole was pushed through the urethane with an ice pick, or whatever is available, and the wire threaded through to the other side. You can then wrap the other end of the wire through the other broomstick handle and with two guys you can start to cut through the eurathane, one from the outside of the car and one from the inside. The wire WILL break, however, you just replace it with a new piece and keep going. It will take about 10 minutes per window maximum and it really is no big deal. DON'T drop that window. Doug.

Keeping the wire wet to cool it down seems to delay the break time a bit anyway. My own personal experience.
