I'l take a guess, no aluminum bumper?

Sort of............

So by that I take it that none of the aluminum body parts came on the GP.

My notes say no aluminum front end. I saw the first one of those SD's that had been discovered at POCI years ago. VERY cool car. What a sleeper!

The only thing I can find is that the 68/69 heads are #5 stamped and 1970 are #6 stamped, the 1970 have smog bumps in the exhaust ports.

Yeah, sorry Chris. He was right with his guess. It looked like an Impala SS El Camino.

Ray, you're not there yet on the W31 heads. There was a reason the W31 came headed two different ways. Hey, that sounds funny!!!

That wouldn't surprise me, but now tell me why? I am guessing that along with the 2 choices of heads there was 2 different cams as well. That should be a pretty good clue for you guys.

That could be. But there is still a reason they came 2 different ways. It had to do with how you ordered the car.........

So are you saying the heads were different for automatic and manual cars?

Yes. I have a reference note that says Car Review magazine, November 93.

Olds was different that way. I know they did that with cams too. My brother had a 442 for many years and taught me some Olds stuff.

Click that link I have, it says 68/69 heads are #5 and 70 heads are #6, the specs don't appear different for auto vs. manual. The cams are identical too. They did put 455 valves in those 350 heads though. Another thing is the 68/69 intake is cast iron while the 70 is aluminum which might account for #5 vs. #6. I can see no reference for diffferent heads for different transmissions except that auto was available in 1970.

PS. Bed time....

And I hope this one has correct information!

Tech question-----

At what temperature (F) does water boil under 15 pounds of pressure? (Approx, within a degree or two)
