I had mine re-plated at a cost of $250 for the part and $10 for each letter.  The light housings were $100 ea.  I took the letters off for better results and used epoxy to remount them.  The "finned" section was by no means perfect but still came out very good.  There are still some pit holes visible and look more like tiny dents now,  but in order to have a perfect job, it would have involved a lot of labor to fill the pits etc and I expect the cost could have been 3x what I paid.  Following that, I had the black sections and letters re-painted professionally using special bonding agents at an additional cost of $200.  Wow.....didn't realize how much I actually spent on just the back end chrome.cry

I had all chroming done to date at Alberta Plating, Calgary.  I had heard both good and bad about them, but I think they did a great job.  The bumpers in particular needed a lot of repairs and the chrome is excellent with no rough or sharp edges.
