Are the Leafs ever terrible!

Got invited to the game last night vs. Panthers. Man  the Leafs are  aweful, especially after watching that great junior World Championship hockey. 18 rows from the ice - $144 per seat,  imagine that.

We watched for 12 minutes and that was enough, after that we made the rounds. Hot Stove Lounge, Labatt's box, major Canadian legal firm suite (going nameless to protect the innocent), Air Canada Club Lounge. Thank Goodness I have friends who know how to turn a disaster into a party.

I think the Leafs scored 2 and Panthers 4.

Brian Burke !! Start earning your money!

My favorite team since I was a kid. I don't really watch any hockey any more though. The warm garage is more appealing.

Funny thing is, our son (age 14) adopted the Leafs as his favorite team years ago without ever hearing me talk much about hockey. He is hoping they suck huge this year so they get the draft pick!

The buzz at the ACC last night was that Burke is working on getting Rick Nash. That's exactly what they need, a marquee Canadian.

I count 9 Canadians on the roster and that includes Deveaux who was born in the Bahamas but was raised in Welland. Lets figure this one out, our Juniors are the best hockey players in the world, proven a fact with 5 straight gold medals and the Leafs roster is only 39% Canadian. confuse.gif

I agree that the first part of the Leafs game was ugly to watch. They could'nt even get a shot on net.
Look at the bright side. Sundin is going to play his first game as a Vancouver Canucksmilesmilesmile

Imagine that, Burke added a Canadian today, not a real talent but some toughness in Brad May.

Ugh, I thought the plan was to trade AWAY veterans to GET draft picks, not the other way around confused.gif  Strange, they acquire a 37 year old the same day another 37 year old who no longer fit into their plans makes his debut with another team.ashamed

Sorry Burkie, this trade makes no sense to me, unless he just wants a set of ears and eyes in the dressing room to be his personal observer....
