Carl I remember this car being advertised for ever in the Richmond Hill area, then seeing the next owner with it at the Barrie flea market for sale-where is it now ?

Yup, I remember going to look at it in Richmond Hill as well.  What was he asking for it at that time?

Strangest thing?? I received an update to this thread today, but it seems to be from 2009, and I wasn't subscribed.

RIP Hillar

Thanks

If you have those, put 'em on!

If you don't have them and have a chance to buy them, grab 'em!

Beaumont 4008 told me about them & I made the call right away and bought them for 70 plus 15 freight
From Hamilton Kijiji.
He is looking for 396 ones, for his 69, which I think are even more rare .
Not sure though as I was thinking about fabricating some from my 350 emblems

The emblems would be placed on any Pontiac full sized car with a 396 or 427, so anything from a 2 door Strato Chief to a fully loaded Grande Parisienne

Acadian and Beaumonts would get the 307, 327 (68) or 350 emblems.

I can only show a sample of the 1968 versions  except 427.

I'll get my body man to install them in the spring & post pictures.
Now I can't do the 69 SD396 stripes if I put this emblems on.
But I think I'll like this more.
I'll need to measure a 69 to get the location correct

I agree with you on using the 396 emblem vs. SD396 stripe. Speaking from first hand knowledge and in my opinion its a lot more fun doing up a "what if "or "one of none" car using period correct OEM or OEM reproduction  pieces.  You could still use the stripe though sans SD396. The real fun is in the reaction of the Cruise Night Lawyers.
