My favorite styling feature from the 60's/70's was i could tell the make and model with just a sideways glance.
So true! I used to be able to identify every year of every model well into the 80's but then they started the 5 year+ body cycles where you had to be a real expert to pick out any differences, especially when the styling was so bland to begin with. Even with American cars, can anyone tell the difference for example between 98-02 Camaros? Grand Ams? Cavaliers?

How true. I remember being 5 or 6 and sitting in the back seat of the car constantly asking dad "What kind of car is that?". He'd rattle off "58 Chevy or 62 Galaxie". Try that now!

I've seen hidden headlights, vent windows, rally wheels and midyear Corvettes mentioned above. I'd have to agree. I've got them all, and plenty more, all wrapped up in my '67.
I also got a fibreglass body (no rust), 4-wheel independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, 427 cu.in., transistorized ignition, side-mounted exhaust, 3x2 Holleys, solid lifters, 4-speed Muncie, the famous "stinger" hood, and more giddy-up than a bad boy deserves. Hard to believe that it all came in one car, ain't it?
The 60's. What an amazing decade for cars.
I've made some improvements to some of the above features in recent years, but we older guys will never forget....
67HEAVEN, That is a great looking car! Mid-years are my favorite Vette. My 1st Corvette was a 65 convertible, 327-300 4 spd. I would love to have another some day.

theres a decent 64 coupe project on kijiji for $7500, I tried $5000 but no go-thought it would make a nice modified car-Cragars and a 350 4-speed or something, they make nice front clips now for about $3000 so you could probably put something like that together for another $20,000 or so
You would be surprised, insurance on Corvettes is cheaper than a lot of other cars today, mainly because only old rich fuddy duddies can afford to buy the new ones and they spend more time being polished than driven, hence very low risk profile. A friend of mine who is in his early 20's went from a Camaro to a Corvette and his insurance actually went down!

Hey 427Carl did you buy that '75 convert. from Leo & Dave? If so I remember that car. I bought a 74 454 convert. from Leo in 1980. What about that red 66 coupe? Is that the one Dave & Henderson bought in Michigan with the 427-425? It was the nastiest Corvette i ever drove!
