So who is watching B-J auction tonite?

Some nice GM Heritage vehicles selling tonight. So far I caught one mistake by Steve Magnate, (who I have a lot of respect for on Mopars). A 75 Corvette convert. was crossing the block and he said this was the last year for a convertible Corvette 'til 84. Actually it was '86. He also called it a roadster which is technically incorrect. The last Corvette roadster was 1955.

Or because Carl hasn't ever owned a TV dish and hasn't had cable since he moved back to the farm 15 years ago!

Other than to watch curling or some type of sports, or to watch a rented movie (about 2-3 a year at best) I doubt I turned on the TV 5 times in 2008. Workshop and computer for this cowboy!

Did they sell the 6 speed yet?

They have a scrap title on them cause they dont want liabilaty, and so they dont have to worry about when somone buys it. That its upto the buyer to beware, its upto them to get it to pass saftey. Its becasue of some of the mods they have done to some of the cars..one off stuff not passed by any state saftey regs.

The big block vette and Impalla did it for me if I was rich I would have bought them both. Only would have been better if there was a Big Block SS wagoon.

Looked pretty good to me the way it was!  A couple of years ago that car would have been $55-60K minimum, the market has really tanked, which of course is good for us enthusiasts instead of investors.

There were some great deals last night - a 66 Impala 396 4 speed hardtop - $25K, a 69 C10 pickup for $13K and what I thought was the best deal that I saw, a 69 396 4 speed Nova, black on black, not numbers matching any more, he an upgraded to a 454.  4.10 12 bolt, M-21, ralley wheels, looked bone stock, that thing went for $21K.  WELL BOUGHT!nod.gif

Other mistakes:
steve Magnet refered to some "Astro Supreme" wheels as "Radirs"  big difference.

Also did anyone notice that they kept refering to a 59 galaxie 4dr HardTop(pillarless). as a sedan?  they even posted a caption that stated:
"SEDAN: A 4dr with no post between the doors."      WRONG!

I just love it when they are wrong.  and it seems to happen alot, especially in the early years of broadcasting the event.

what would be neat to see, is take a really nice properly documented Beaumont, any year down there, promote the hell out of it, and see how it does
