I fired her up this week. Not sure if I did it because someone said you should do it every couple of months or if I needed to sit in the seat dreaming of spring.
Didn't it sound good? It is better than sex....
Kinda like foreplay.Got the back wheels to the edge of the snow. Just enough to not let the exhaust fill the garage with fumes. Cant wait to go all the way!!!
Purely for historical reasons (no criticism intended), big block (and all other V8) '66 Canadian Pontiacs came with a simple V8 fender emblem. Grande Parisiennes had no emblem because a 6-cylinder was unavailable anyway. The 283 was stock in the Grande.
How do I know? Easy. I watched a friend's silver '66 Parisienne convertible (L-72, 4-speed, bench seat) being built in Oshawa. It left the factory with the V8 emblems. Great sleeper. Not many people expected a L-72 in a Parisienne 'vert, and the emblem didn't give it away.
Hi Coop. I agree, '67 was a great year. It seems we share many of the same memories of that time. I read your bio and laughed because there were so many similarities. I also bought my 1st '67 Beaumont SD in '67. I'm writing for two reasons , 1st to say hello and 2nd because there is a thread I read before reading yours. Another SD396 for sale. I took a look at it, very nice, but it had a couple things on it a little different than the one I have and the one I bought new in 1967. Could you post some pics of your car, all four sides and the dash if possible. Just to see if yours is the same as that one or the two that I've had. I also noticed you're a little younger then I am. LOL Leo
Amen. The Summer of Love; Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Band; the first L-88 Corvettes; the first Super Bowl; first Camaro/Firebird; and fantastic music, to name but a few milestones for one of the greatest years in the life.
What more could a young coming of age Canadian boy want besides a brand new 1967 L-71 tri-power, big-block, side-piped Corvette?
Oh, and did I mention it was the "Summer of Love"?
