I'm sure there are as many opinons as there are owners.  Here is the way my car was delivered in 1967.

I suspect it had to do with time of year built and/or exterior colour of the car.

Carl, Carl-thats the way yours would have been new ! I believe thats the way it is now ? redlines on a red car is desirable-yes the hubcaps leave a little to be desired but thats correct you need disc brakes to get rallys-guess this is why they all got mags put on when they were new. I generally like whatever it came factory with

I like the redlines on red... i actually like the po1 hubcaps more than the wire wheels too...

in terms of the trim, i don't think the time of year mattered, since there's early and late cars on here with black trim and some in the middle that didnt have? my silver and gold sd's both had black trim? maybe its a winnipeg thing?!hahaha!

My car would have had redlines, and "wire wheel covers" (there is a set in Seaforth On.)   I am glad we all allow, our own personel tastes... I guess I better get a set of "yellow lines" for  Ventura    To me, redlines on a red car, are as impressive as blackwalls on a black car...  and look at Andrew's beautifull feature car.  The photos with the chrome wheels, "doubles" the value of the car, in my humble view....

Hey 427 Carl.   I resemble that remark!!!!! biggrinbiggrin
I've managed to get lots of ink on my Beaumonts, both the 68's and the 67 and I do admit that I have heard the same comment on the wheel covers many times. I kinda think it adds to the "mystery" of the car
to wear the originals as most people that see the cars in the magazines
or at shows here in the states have never seen a Beaumont before.
When the car won a blue ribbon at THE Meadowbrook Concours D'elegance I overheard an individual at the awards table saying beautiful car ugly wheels! I love the way red lines look on a red car but thats just my 2 cents. I am going to bring my Acadian with whitewalls and poverty caps and my Beaumont with ugly wheelcovers and redlines and my Beaumont with wire wheels and whitewalls to the Pontiac Nationals in Dayton Ohio this summer . Should hear some interesting comments there!

Thank you for not hollerin at me! hmm  Your car is at the top of the heap in Beaumontville!... Its nice, that we can quickly change the looks, of our rides.. With your car so well restored, I am sure, it should be shown, in original form... When I had my SD, I was in tire business, and I tried Cragar SS, and Cragar SST, and rally wheels, and of course the original wire covers...I will attach the photos..  Have you ever had, any other wheels on it for fun?  Wheels make such a difference, to a cars looks..like Andrews feature car with the chrome wheels   From now on, your car is the only one, I will like, with red on red...  lol     Carl67-396SD.jpg67-396SD at Clinton 1979 or 80 001.jpg67-396SD at Clinton 1979 or 80 002 (Custom).jpg67-396SD Clinton 1979 for sure 004.jpg

Hey biggrin  thats cool!   How many guys have 5 different photos, with a different set of wheels, in each....   It used to drive my Boss nuts, caused there was always several sets of tires on the shelves, that had a few miles on them... lol     The B.F.G. were the "Best" looking set

I started my car off with a set of SSTs...then the Street Stars, then the dog dishes... i like how the brochure says the wire caps are 'sporty'... they are a nice look though, there's a hubcap reseller in winnipeg that had quite a few of them...

Carl, I noticed that the 3 side louvers on your convertible went from being painted (stock) to being fully chromed. Did the paint fall off or was it a preference? I have had guys tell me that they are supposed to be 100% chrome but I debate it every time. The paint has fallen off the ones on my car.

They were always painted from any that i've seen, including mine... but the paint was over a fully chromed piece, and probably never stuck the greatest from day one... alot of people just leave them that way, me included...

Carl-I would like to buy a set of those wires for the car I'm getting someday ! are they available ?

The louvers really need to be painted correctly in my opinion

My original "67 SD had painted louvres from the factory and I thought they looked great. When I bought this '67 SD, they were not painted and I really liked it that way. They are still unpainted today and I prefer them that way.

Re- 68SD's post of all the brochures,on a different thread.
Iwas looking at the '67 beaumont 's and the green conv. does NOT appear to have the louvers on the rear quarters painted. GM seems to be advertising them as chromed.

Are those wires the same ones that were on my Laurentian?

Is that the code for the wire wheel covers?  I know that I have at least a couple of sets of those kicking around some where.
