Because these cars were sold mainly in Canada, I'm assuming that the membership here is mostly Canadian. There may be a few Americans here, and I'm sure they're all good guys.
After having spent the better part of 10 years on several other car forums (all US-based), I can't tell you just how refreshing it is here.
Sure, the majority of guys on the other places are good folks, but sadly there are enough wackos spreading their anger, self-pity and bigotry to give me a bad taste in my mouth.
Protect this place. It's uniquely Canadian, and that's a very good thing.
Well stated Bob! I too have been on several car forums over the past 8 years and have gave up on all of them due to the negativity and the arguing. Todd has done an incredible job of keeping this site enjoyable. I keep coming back, as time permits, to learn more and to socialize with like minded guys.
Yup, I'm on about a dozen other car boards as well and this one is by far my favourite. No one here seems to have an ego, a need to prove that they are right, everyone is friendly and helpful, I guess through luck or providence we have only managed to attract fairly mature members (and I mean in attitude, not age!) and hopefully it will continue that way.
I think Todd has mentioned a couple of times that absolutely no crap whatsoever will be tolerated on here, and I guess that is an early warning that everyone respects! If you don't, you get .

Thanks for the kind words. It's very refreshing to not have to enforce the rules very often on here. Just goes to show the kind of folk who are into these cars! It's my favorite hangout too!
Thank you Bob for the kind words, and a "reminder" of the fellowship we enjoy here... Its so refreshing, to have a new group of friends, who enjoy the same interests... It must be a Canadian Pontiac thing! and again, thanks TODD
I agree this is the most friendly and helpful car site I have ever visited. As stated previously there are no egos here and no" my car is better than yours "mentatilty. On this site everybody seems to want to help everybody else just make their cars better so that person can enjoy their car even more than they do already. Thanks go to Todd for keeping the site this way!
I agree that this is a great site and seems to keep everything positive with people checking the ego at the door. Very refreshing to say the least. I'm happy to be one of the US guys to take part in it. (Don't worry I won't share it with anyone) Bill Wertheim Clarence CTR NY U.S.A
i totally agree, i don't even own a cdn pontiac(just tell myself it's cdn pontiac powered...ya right!) but i feel like i belong. there isn't an 'attitude' here like other forums i frequent. there is indeed a great group on here!
got 2 upstairs in the kitchen cupboard i get to see 2 or 3 times a week, gave 3 to my daughter at school in thorold (brock), gave a couple away and 1 i'm staring at holding a bunch of pens beside the today, new 22" monitor.
this is a great site and thanks to Todd for all his time and effort. Im on this site and another one called www.pontiac-59.com and luckily the few people on that site are all nice as well, but its not quite the same as this beauty!! and thx to all the people who have helped me out with the 59 and all your amazing and sometimes scary wealth of knowledge!!!
But at the same time I have to say that ChevyTalk in the 65-70 big B Forums at least, has been a very good place for me. They never had any problem with a CP guy being there and I've really learned a lot. A good bunch. Now spending time in the general form there can be another story for sure, and I stay away. But Tony seems to be working hard to get things back in order.
When I built my 12 bolt, I joined ChevelleTech. The guys in the drivetrain forum pretty much walked me through the process, and one guru in Kentucky supplied all the parts I needed to rebuild my carrier. Good guys there.
PY is a hit and miss. Too USA Poncho imop.
Bottom line...It's really nice to have a place to call your own!
Cheers, Mark.

I'm on about 4 forums, 3 Canadian and one has a bunch of Canadians on it. I've got two that are specific for my car, this one and the fourth one i found first but don't frequent as much anymore, just finding it's not what i'm interested in. One of the other forums is local so not a lot of chat. The other has good tech info for me. This one has overall great info and some really great people and fun stuff. I mean i actually got to meet Todd himself, how cool is that?!?!?! Thanks for starting the site Todd!
Been really busy the past two days boys, but time to chime in. Pretty much it's all been said. The thing I find is I refer to the guys on Board as my friends even though we've never met for the most part. I feel fortunate that I have met so mant decent guys and now I truly can say I have friends:
"From Bonavista, to Vancouver Island, From the Arctic Circle to the Great Lakes waters, Canadian Poncho was made for you and me."
