GM of Canada Doc Sheet for my '62

After seeing a few other GM of Canada documentation sheets I noticed they had the options listed below the "number produced" but mine doesn't have any options listed....

So would my car have come with no options?

Or back in '95 when GM sent this info to the previous owner did they not add the options to the sheet?

What do you guys think?

yes your car would habve come with some options, but not like your thinking though... e.g. padded dash pad is an option, yet it is in allmost every car. your cowl tag will list a couple bottom line like B70, padded dash, M35 powerglide. see. my blue car was doc. in 93 it has options listed

Joel, I have heard guys say that prior to either 63 or 64 GM has less info available for the cars. It is possible they just don't have any options listed for it in their system.

Your original seats are long gone, right? How about a sheet up under the dash? No hope of that?

Carl, no seats came with the car and I checked under the dash and nothing.

Sounds like a lack of info would be the reason.

I thought it would be cool to have a "No Options" car biggrin

A COPO "bare bones" Acadian you mean!

Not sure how much that would scare people unless it had the optional chrome engine dress up package...........

Carl is correct as usual! Here is an excerpt from GM Canada web site:

Option details are available from 1964 to the present for most vehicle lines. Available information from 1946 to 1964 is limited to:

  • colour
  • trim
  • production/shipping dates
  • engine number
  • quantities produced for sale in Canada
  • selling Dealer (after approx. 1957)

You can reiview the page right HERE

While COPO is generally known for the back door to performance upgrades a COPO approved car could be as simple as a cetain exterior paint being approved for production with a non recommended interior colour, even a 6 cylinder car.

Thanks 73SC for finding that on the GM site.

I know the car came with a 194 I6 and a PG but don't know what other options it had.

I think 65beau didn't realize Carl was kidding about it being a COPO car...

Thanks guys smile
