I had a good time getting to meet some of the guys today. The following guys showed up along with a few friends for coffee and chit chat.
seventy2plus2 from Calgary 67rag396 from Calgary chader from Strathmore StriperSS from Summerland BC 67SD396 from Strathmore kelico from Calgary rebel from Calgary elroy from Three Hills
I must say this group was a cheap date. Only one donut and less than 10 cookies consumed. Once I figured out how to use the new coffee maker, we did go through a few pots. Clint got brave and drove his ragtop. My buddy Ken stopped by and tuned up the 4 post lifts for me, but no other work was done because my back is still ratched.
I look forward to doing it again.
Rick

Excellent time Rick! I enjoyed meeting everyone and talkin' cars. Here's my pic's of the meet and greet in AB. Hope everyone is ok with lots of pics....
even though I was there I still need a who's who. The car on the trailer is the 67 2+2 parts car that Rick (67rag396) bought a couple years ago. I think he's salvaged most everything from it now. Interesting enough, the buckets had the optional headrests. And yes, the 454 with the blueish air cleaner is from the white convertible.
The Bonneville bumper on my car is a proof of concept, not the finished product. I got the kit to make the light sequential like an 67 Cougar.
Thanks for hosting us Rick, I should have popped back a few doughnuts.
The sequential tail lights didn't give me the effect I thought they would. They sequence too quickly, and they're not adjustable. They're neat, just not as neat as I thought they'd be. (I had to change the inside socket on each side, as the inside light only was for brake lights, and only had one wire to it. Easy change).
Boy, I love that big red rag. Then I see an underhood shot. I love that big orange mill. And I see an interior shot. 4 speed console. I see some smoking tires in the future!!!

you can do the sequentials with 2 elements, but looks better with 3. I see your Laurentian has the narrow tail-lights, whereas the 69 Parisienne's and 2+2's had the extra element (like a Bonneville). Now if you want to do some body modifications it'll really look cool.
I'm surprised no one indicated the endura section of the Bonneville back bumper should be body color. I figured yellow would look kind of hokie, so I went with black. There's enough black on the car that it looks like it belongs.

well gee Clint, given it's not correct any way, but was the endura rear section always body coloured? Even on light coloured cars like white, beige and yellow? I don't think I have ever seen a Bonneville in those colours but I agree, I think it would look hokie.

Well, I just got back from work, and had a look at the photos posted, and realised that I hardly took any. I was having such a good time that my intended half hour visit, ended up being close to 3 hours. It was nice to meet everyone today, although I didn't get a chance to talk to the ones who showed up as I was leaving. It was a good crowd and we should do it again. Awesome cookies by the way. And it was nice of you to host this little get-together. We got some investment tips, apparently, stocks, bonds, gold and most commodities are just not going to cut it in the long run, but tailgates..... ......................... tailgates are the future!
I got up close and personal with 2 really nice 2+2 ragtops. In fact I put 2 coats of envy on each. 2 beautiful cars. One in the previous post, and one here!
Did you ever disect anything in school? Perhaps a frog or other unfortunate small animal? We saw the results of a disection today. The unfortunate victim was a Pontiac, a 4 door of uncertain vintage, but it gave it's life and secrets to give hope to other Pontiacs. It made me think of all the cars in the past that I've had the chance to pull parts from, and didn't. I just never thought they would be in short supply.
Pictured also is a nice little Beaumont, that it seems everyone in the building had owned at least once, except of course me.
Seriously though, it was a nice break for me, as I don't know too many people here in Calgary.
