I found this parked in London, Ont..

The family and I were in London today. While travelling along busy Fanshawe Park Road I happened to look to my right and saw the unmistakable roofline of a B-body GM. in a townhouse complex. A brick wall hid the rest. My understanding wife and son didn't mind me chasing down the lead.

After turning into the subdivision and using my "Poncho senses" I found the proper laneway and this:

Yes folks, it's a 70 2+2! Check out the plates:

I snapped these two photos with my cell phone camera. It's a 350 car and looks complete (still has the rally rims!) I looks to have been sitting there a long time. I brushed away the snow from the drivers window and it has a decent black bucket seat interior. The drivers seat is torn but the rest looked pretty good. Someone must be going to restore it as there was a shop manual in the back seat. The odometer showed 97xxx miles. Now that I know where it is I'll go back in the Spring and see if I can track down the owner. Just goes to show you these gems are still out there!

It's off Aldersbrook near Fanshawe Pk road. You can see the car from Fanshawe Pk Road just past Wonderland. I remember back in 2004 there was a repair shop on Hyde Park road and they had a 69 2+2 ragtop sitting there. It was rough. Gold I believe. One day it was gone..

Earl (elludy) and I decided to take a trip back to the 2+2. The car actually is in better shape than I thought. Now that the snow was gone we could get a better look at it:

Jan09013.jpg

The car looks to have had one repaint in it's life. The sheetmetal is
quite solid. As you can see the bumpers will need rechroming. I tried to get some undercarriage shots and it didn't look too bad:
Jan09011.jpg
The floors looked good:
Jan09012.jpg
The interior isn't bad for being 39 years old:

Jan09014.jpg

We wrote down the VIN and the good news is we determined which unit the owner lives in. Now that the snow was gone we could see the unit number painted on the parking spot. No one answered the door so we left a note. Now we wait and see if we get a call. Get this: The car is registered until Dec 09! I figure the owner is doing this in order to be allowed to park it there. This has to be the original (or an early owner) as the plates are from 1973!
Fingers crossed we get a call. This one would look great restored in it's original colour with rally's and redlines!

Agreed, and the primer spotted on the rust spots tells us somebody cares about it.

So when was the car last licensed? Couldn't see the sticker to tell.
Fingers crossed you get a call Todd!

It has a sticker good till Dec 09! We figure the owner just keeps renewing the sticker in order to be allowed to park it at the townhouse complex (that's cheaper than paying for storage!). We talked to a tenant and she said everyone gets two parking spots. There were several spots where the paint had flaked off and the owner covered it in primer.

That thing looks as good as a southern Alberta car.  Definitely a keeper.
Good luck!

I talked to the guy in Kitchener with the 69 2+2. It's a rough project needing tons of TLC. We couldn't get a hold of the owner with the 70 2+2.

No pics. To be honest I don't really want a project hanging around here. Even at a grand that's money I can put into my 454 conversion. I talked to the owner. No console, patched up floors and trunk. Fenders bad, wrong engine, needs front fenders, interior has been done in vinyl and cloth-non stock maroon!
