Barbara says yesterday. I hate to tell you, and ruin the weekend (what Me?) There is "WATER DRIPPING" from the LIGHT FIXTURE, over the kitchen window!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so I was in bed, at 7:30 with total body pain... Want to see? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, Damn Ice Actually the vent was covered with snow, and there is a build up of ice ,where the unheated car port joins the house roof It stopped leaking....
I haven't had to do that for 10 years... I had to go to the funeral home, after that, and had to sit, for a hour, in a side room, before going through line... Thought i WAS GOING TO DIE THERE LOL Went to bed at 7:30 lived throught the night.. need to do the other side ASAP
Ice damming sucks! i rake my roof all the time... 1.5 storey houses are just not meant for a canadian climate! cold attics are where its at!hahaha! you guys get way more snow sitting on your roofs there, and its heavy stuff too!
Carl, I got the same call Thursday! "Before you blow out the driveway you might want to look at the sunroom roof" were her words.
We have major ice dams this year. The ice is about 7 inches above the gutters. My roof is very steep-except for above our sunroom (was added likely in the 60's). Water was coming in above one of the windows. I climbed onto a ladder with a hammer and chisel and spent an hour removing enough ice to bring it below the gutter level for a 7 foot run above that window. I put a layer of salt in the gutter to hopefully keep it from returning (for now anyway). The water has stopped coming in for now. This is the first time since we've moved here that we've had this problem. I heard on the news tonight the London area has had 100cm more snow so far this winter than all of last winter (and we are only half way through it!)
It's been a long time since I've seen snowbanks this high around Woodstock-Ingersoll. I'm thinking back to the 70's. When there was no talk of global warming.
It was a good day to get rid of the ice. I managed to clear all the ice from the sunroom gutter. The weight of the ice pulled a section away from the facia. I got that fixed as well.
