What news did you see it on? According to what I've read it originated from the union in Canada.

From the London Free Press
" The CAW will sit down with the Detroit Three automakers to bargain concessions as part of the manufacturers' getting a government loan package.

"He is pitching a dire scenario for his members. He is laying the groundwork to say this is serious. . . . They are opening a bargaining position for themselves internally. I think everyone is getting a healthy dose of realism in Canada."

After last summer's trouble in Oshawa the union rep's need to prep the troops for reality.

That's odd.  I just watched the Calgary Global Noon News Hour on line:

http://www.globaltv.com/globaltv/calgary/video/index.html

and there was absolutely no mention of General Motors whatsoever.

Which Global noon news were you watching?

No one was doubting you 65beau. They were just trying to find facts online to substantiate the global story. The links Ray posted are legitimate news sites and even though "mainstream" sites can still be slanted to the left or the right, they aren't as "opinionated" as such sites as autoextremist.com or thetruthaboutcars.com
Don't be so quick to get your back up.

Hey 65Beau! I heard the exact same thing. It was then followed up later that the company was going to sit down with the union to discuss what changes that need to be implemented in order to keep GM in Canada.

I hope He comes back.   He has, a lot of good Beaumont info.. Sometimes this site, becomes a seemingly safe place to be... Not all of us, are used to the banter, that can occur... We have all agreed to be friends... I am sensitive, to real nasty comments (and I have not seen any), but I think, we just have to, let time heal up any little scrapes  twocents.gif

There isn't a guy on this site that can't shoot some bulls**t, so I wouldn't be quick to judge. My saying is, don't throw rocks in a glass castle! We are all here for the same reason.
