Ok this is promising, 65Camino is younger than me, in his 40's...does she like cars, he has 4 that run, plus about 20,000 slot cars....Ya and he's going to pound on me too......
Oh, Oldsmobile where are you? An 8x10 photo of a black Oldsmobile Cutlass adorned with Hurstette Nikki Phillips has surfaced, and we're asking readers if they know the car's whereabouts. The car appears to be a 1970 Cutlass Supreme with the optional SX package and the rare fiberglass W-25 hood. It also has a factory sunroof, not available in 1970.
The photo was given to Pete Serio by a former Hurst employee, who worked for George Hurst from 1964, until his retirement in 1980. George Hurst died about 20 years ago. It is common knowledge that Hurst's favorite colors were black and gold, which explains the paint scheme. Serio believes the car may have been built for either Hurst himself or perhaps for a member of the board of directors. This car obviously was used as a parade lap car at events throughout the country.
Serio believes the car is a one-off or custom-built for several reasons. First, W-25 hoods were not factory installed on notchback Supremes. Secondly, the sunroof had to installed by Hurst, because it was not a factory option in 1970. Anyone with information please contact us at gmattar@hemmings.com.
