man, i love the artwork of the earlier ads. Its funny, but thats one of the things that made me want to draw as a kid. My dad would show me those old ads and want me to draw the cars for him because i would always ask my parents what can i draw now. Wish i had them now, but they all got thrown out when i was in highschool, that was stupid of me.

I wonder if the artist Art Fitzpatrick did the illustration artwork for the Canadian '60s ads and brochures the same way he did for the US Pontiacs of this time.

Pontiac was among the last to hang onto the hand drawn illustrative style in their marketing and advertising literature (as opposed to photography), and Fitzpatrick was at the top of this game.

These ads are really great. Thank you Fred for posting them!  smile

Here's one I didn't see in there.

The red Acadian under that is identical to the red one already posted but for two things.  1) The wording is the same but spaced out differently for some reason and more importantly 2) The date is at the bottom, Feb 24 1962 and I noticed it doesn't mention the Deluxe we now know they made, at least for a short time.

The last one, the 70 is not so much an ad but a wall hanging that I assume dealerships got. I got it out of General Motors zone office in Winnipeg many years ago, thanks to a friend who worked there.

i noticed that the advert for the 62 acadian wagon had the chevyII style taillights, red over white and the 63 acadian wagon had the red over red. is that the way they were? did the 62 not the reverse lights in the bumper?
