It doesn't pay to race and speed !

Today, I went to Brandon Manitoba to pick up some body parts-trims off an accidented green 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport 400 total wreck. That car used to be nice, I've seen it before in Altona MB and talked to the owner who's from Carberry MB, I saw him at the once a year local Altona drag races. What happened to his Lemans was that he was going extremely fast on a country road close to Nepawa MB and clipped a minivan on his driver side then sent everybody to the hospital. He broked both legs and his pelvis, I don't know about the other party ? That car is so bad, I should have brought my camera, the front of the frame is like a pretzel so is the driveshaft, it even bent the axle tube on the rearend and the gas tank is dented too, the driver side of the car is pretty much demolished, the roof is buckled. The starter broked the block from being pushed in as well as the auto trany case. I dont think that guy will get his licence back or his paycheck ??? My buddy who bought the car from another guy who purchased it from the insurance, didn't get to many parts for himself, he mostly wanted the Pontiac 400 and the posi diff. By the way, that rare 71 Lemans sport 400 ( the original engine was replaced with a 1977 400 ) was built in Oshawa Ontario.

I know the car you mean. I talked to him at Altona a couple of years ago at the races. He had since spent some money on it and made it quite a bit faster. Originally when he raced it he only beat my 94 Impala by about a length but now he had his time down a second or two. Seems to me last year it had a nitrous kit on it if I recall right.

Too bad about the car but glad he made it through the accident. It doesn't sound good for him, does it?
