Yesterday was my last day with CP. (Thanks every one )

CP Rail that is LoL.  Today is my official first day of retirement. I have been on pre retirement holidays  since Dec. 4th.  I worked at CP Rail with the store's department for 36 years.  I always hated trains LoL.  But I enjoyed the work and the people .  My family keeps me bussy now. I have 5 kids and 9 Grandchildren and a 69 Beaumont to keep me on my toes.  I enjoyed today by instahling bathroom flooring and a new toilet at one of my Daughters.

You guys are my new CP freinds and I am glad I found this site. Looking forward to the next 36 years here.

Ian

That is an outstanding accomplishment, few people have that kind of committment and dedication today. Enjoy your new CP run, we enjoy having you around!  thumbsup.gif

Congratulations on your retirement from CP. I know how long 36 years feels as I'll have 36 years seniority on April 13 09 with Brewers Retail in Ontario as a truck driver. Enjoy your Defined Benefit pension plan as this type of plan is slowly being eliminated by all companies as they convert all new hires to Defined Contribution pension plans. Our generation has been extremely lucky to have union leaders with the foresight to negotiate good benefits and pensions for us. The next generation will not have it so good unless they are taught to be disiplined with their finances.

I am sure your family will keep you active enough with projects only Dad knows how to do!

Happy Retirement  !!!

Al

Why do we, when we go on pension, always do renovations whether it be at home or on a car?  I followed the same pattern in 2004 and stil do!!!  Friends that retired with me and went and sat on the porch are no longer with me!!! Welcome to the greatest Forum!!!!

I was thinking I might look for some part time job down the road also. I know my wife is sure behind that, as she has mentioned it many times, I think I am getting on her nerves LoL
