They are also known as avolt/ohm meter. It is an electronic measuring instrument that combines several functions in one unit. It includes features such as the ability to measure voltage, current and resistance.

I had the Nine Dollar one like Carl's in my hand and was ready to walk away when this one for Twenty Nine caught my eye. Regular $59.

I thought, the case on the mini one is nice, but why do I really need another pair of cheap strippers and pliers anyway? I really do need a bigger one. So I bought it for Twenty more...

So you can find out why your fuel gauge isn't reading for example, or a horn isn't honking you can even test your battery voltage, lots of things.

I also got one in the fall, My budy needed the cheep strippers and pliers I needed the Multimeter so we split the cost about 5 bucks each, but we used canadian tire money.  Then my wife just bought one. She buys those on sale canadian tire tools
almost every thursday. And there for her !! She stashes them in here closet , gives out as presents for Christmas, birthdays etc. 

(I guess I am getting another one next Christmas)

I have two multimeters- a similar digital and an older gauge style. Sometimes one works better than the other depending on what you are measuring. The old one also has a continuity buzzer which comes in handy too.

Damn!   what was I thinking?disbelief  YOU ARE RIGHT!  biggrin  I haven't had a new tool, this year..  and $9.00 is perfect...   Thanks I will get one(2) tomorrow      what was I thinking?????? ITS a tool      I have lots of tools, that I don't know what, they are for...
