Ruh Roh!

I had a knock on my door last night. It was my next door neighbor. He says matter-of-factly "There's a tree in the park that looks like it's going to fall on your garage".
Sure enough, there's a 40 foot pine that's leaning on a good angle. Can you see it in this photo? (hint-look just above where the two fences meet)

Sure enough- the roots are pulling out the ground!:

You can't tell by the photo, but there is a soccer ball sized hole there.

My other neighbor happens to be deputy mayor so I figured instead of all the run-around I'd get calling the town, I'd just call him. Sure enough, I followed up with him tonight and it's going to be looked after. I hope they do it soon as I fear the frozen ground is all that's holding it. We are expecting temps in the mid teens tomorrow.

Let's hope the town comes through Todd.

It looks like there is more than one tree in trouble. Get the Laurentian outta there and around to the front pronto!

Although the tree would probably just bounce off that bunker anyway...

Here's hoping they get to it quick. I know an arborist, but unfortunately he's down in Windsor.

I'm not too worried. Both the town, garage and Laurentian are well insured! However, I don't think I'll spend too much time out there until the tree is removed!

-10 right now hight of -10 tommorow and-3 for Sunday. Should be a good weekend to take the new sled out. Took it for a short ride in the field when we unloaded it and hit 75mph in about 75 yards.

We got up to 15 here today, windy but mild at least. Lots of rain coming over the weekend. Glad to see the Laurentian is now safe Todd!

Never met the mayor, but the deputy is a great guy.

All that remained was sawdust and muddy tire tracks.
