I would love to have a display like that even if they are all Americian built Pontiacs. Obviously by the bidding this is for the big buck collectors or someone who will speculate on the value increasing. People with money are not making very much leaving it in the bank and as is my brother's motto "I'd rather have something to look at and play with than money in the bank". All his investments are old cars.

It looks like that high bidder is serious too, as he said he has intentions of winning the lot.

I sent him a e-mail, and told him I was buying them, at the last minute... I lost several items lately, at the last minute by 1 cent...

Thats when you have to bid at the last minute. Many people, even I do, if I have to bid on an auction, save it in the watchlist, and wait till the last minute/last seconds and place those bids. But it helps if you have a quick internet and can refresh the browser faster.

haha, or you could do that too. Just depends on who wants it more and what they are willing to pay.

If I want it I just bid until I get it...  It makes me smile, to see guys, fussing over the price, of a once in a lifetime purchase..  I didnt like paying 1800.00 to get my bumprs rechromed, BUT I will never have to buy them again ever..  If a guy will make you a set of rocker panel trim and it  cost 1000.00 or 1500.00 OR 2000.00 and you only need one set, whats the deal?  We have guys who will pay 900.00 for perfect seat belts or 3500.00 for a air breather (L72)  and so on ...

Try esnipe.com.

It's cheap (about 25 cents per auction) and it's the only way you get a fighting chance. Fight fire with fire! I win 95% of the auctions this way.

Speaking of model cars perhaps CP member "Rewis" will show some photo's of his collection. His basement looks like a hobby shop from the 1960's! I hope he doesn't mind me telling everyone this but you will start seeing his phenomenal model building skills soon as he is now building the prototype models seen on the box photos for a large model car company. I don't think I can say which company though. Maybe he can spill the beans.

It's no big deal Todd-I just can't spill the beans on the kits I'm building that haven't been announced yet.

I can show pics of 3 I've built-the first two have been making the rounds at hobby shows (they've been to Hong Kong and back, among other places) and a Buick I did for them just recently-don't know exactly what their plans are for that one.

My dad bought a couple rough "annual" kits back in the 80's, still have them, a 64 T-Bird and a 63 Impala convertible. Seen some at toy shows recently, pricey...i'm sure when he bought them he may have paid a couple bucks each. And Rewiss, great modelling skills! Those are some clean machines! One day i might get back into doing some model building.
