Carl, there are so many Canadians down here, you must be related to one of them.
Actually, there are a group of Canadians here in Ft Myers that have formed a "Canadian Home Owners Association". They have pooled their money and they are buying up foreclosed properties in the Ft Myers area for future sale to fellow Canadians. You may be able to get the Canadian discount by paying in CDN $.

I wanted to bump this ad up because I'm currently in Florida until April and would like to sell this car while the market is good for a convertible.
Therefore, I'm lowering the price to $10,000 which includes delivery to Sarnia or Sault ST Marie, ON upon my return to Michigan in April.
Of course the car can also be delivered to any location between Florida and Michigan during my return trip in April.
We are currently using the car for daily transportation while her in Ft Myers, FL and I will be driving it up to the National Nostalgic Nova club mini convention in Kissimmee, FL, Feb. 24-28, 2010.
For those of you car poor like myself, I will consider any and all trades except those that involve me adding cash to the car.

In the early 90's we had a 86 Chrysler convertible, retired from daily duty, that we kept for when our kids who lived out of state came to visit so they had a Flordia Cruiser, an added enticement for them to come. I don't know if I would trust any of our kids with a classic like Norm's, though. Would I trust Carl??? Hmmmm

Yes, $100 will get you Courtsey Curb Service at Ft Myers International Airport. Just send me the day, time and flight # and I will arrive with the top down and load your luggage.

So some get disgruntled when our friends south of the border buy our Cdn cars, yet we buy their realestate. My ideal solution would be to own a Cdn classic (like this one) while living in Florida. Alas, young kids and too many bills...

Well I may be jumping the gun here but at least at this time it appears the convertible won't be going back to Canada. We have certainly enjoyed having it down here in Florida and rediscovered the joy and pleasure of driving around town and on the highway with the top down.
We drove the car up to Kissimmee a couple weeks ago in mid to high 70's with the top down and with the for sale sign in the window, we were stopped twice on the highway by people interested in getting a number and taking a closer look at the car.
About 6 weeks ago I listed the car on racing junk dot com as a sell or trade and that has generated 10-12 valid trade offers.
After bypassing the trucks, motorcycles and mustangs, I ended up with two nice Novas, offered by guys seriously wanting to own a convertible.
Normally, I would not consider trading a convertible for a hardtop but both of these cars come equipped with a legit L-79 under the hood.
I have made a choice between the two cars, going for the legit SS car with the original interior, muncie 4 spd and my favorite turquoise interior.
We will be going to New York next month before going home and upon inspection by both parties, hopefully, we will trade and he gets a convertible and I take home an L-79 car that I have always wanted to own.
I will never own a car collection but owning them one at a time isn't all bad.

Well, I did jump the gun on the L-79 car. The owner finally realized my convertible is not a restored car but a survivor.

The power top has stopped working and will need to be repaired. Windshield is cracked. The car has always been stored inside and needs minor rust repair.
The car is stored in Michigan and I'm currently in Florida. I will be returning to Michigan in mid-april.
Delivery of the car is available in my enclosed trailer for a very reasonable fee.
I want $12,000 USD for the car.

I took the opportunity yesterday to uncover some of the unknown area's of
my convertible. I have stated all along that the only area needing rust repair
was visible on the exterior of the car.
In order to prove or disprove this statement, I decided to remove the rear seat
and expose one of the most vulnerable area's of a Nova convertible.
Many of these cars were stored outside and the plastic rear window was very
vulnerable to the weather. So many times the rear window would crack and allow
moisture into the area behind the rear seat. This area is totally inaccessible
from the trunk or rear seat unless the seat is removed. I have many many times
heard from people that removed the rear seat of their convertible only to find
rusted seat springs and/or floor pan area. These rear seats are unique to the
convertible only and routinely bring $500 on eBay.
Attached are pictures of what I found after removing the rear seat of my
convertible.
You can see the seat springs and brackets still have the original black paint on
them with no signs of even surface rust. The floor area under the rear seat is
better than you could ever expect from a 48 year old car. Again, remember, the
floor pan and incorporated braces are the total support for this unibody car
with no permanent top.
