Thanks "IM2NR" for saving my redline tire!

Keith "IM2NR" saved the day for me. He did a road force balance on my redline tires to see if we can reduce a 50+mph vibration. One tire had been losing air and wouldn't you know it- there was a damn nail in it and it was fairly close to the sidewall. Luckily it was just far enough away from the sidewall to repair. Phew! First time I spring for expensive tires and I get a nail! Thanks Keith.

BTW, if you ever have a chance to get a road force balance and have a tech who knows how to use the equipment, you'll be impressed with the results. I put new Michelin Harmony's on my Park Ave and after two attempts at conventional balancing I still had a minor vibration at "401 speeds wink"

Keith did a road force balance and it's smooth as glass now. The machine simulates the tire being on the road and will also show you how to index the tire with the rim to cancel out any imbalance of each. The machine will also tell you where on the car each tire should go depending on whether you want the the least pull, least vibration or a happy medium of both. Money well spent!

Good news!     before Hi- tech, we use to break them down and turn a 1/4 or 1/2 turn.  usually solved the problem...  We also used to balance them(bias) On the car..Michelins are normally checked at the factory.. If you have a wheel needing balance, its usually the rim! lol    I sold Michelins from 1973 to 2006  They were the leaders.... Sounds like you have a smart fellow in Keith...handshake.gif

I have new red lines on new rally rims for my 67 Mustang. The rims will not go on a normal balance machine. I was thinking I will have to do them on the car with one of those old machines that spins them on the car

Why won't they fit on a normal balancer?...  I have a balancer and tire changer at the farm.   there's not much, I have ever seen, that will not fit..  I'M CURIOUS

I would have to check the paper work with them but it does state what type of adapter you need to balance them.

we have pretty much every adapter know to man availble for our machine , if you got a pic , i can give you a "go" or "no go "

our machine can tell you if it is the rim , the tire , or a combination of both .... plus it will tell you how much to rotate said tire on said rim to reduce the amount of variance thats causing the balance issue , it also can be used to reduce pull & drifting issues

i've done every car i own .. Even my 94 jeep grand cherokee w/ snows . its smooth as glass
