I would love to have a pic of my Dad on his first ride like this one!! But since my Dad is gone, I will post a pic of one of our real rides of crazyness and one I realllllly would love to have back. (both, actually!) '69 BSA 650cc Lightning, springer front end, hard tail, fully chromed, Malteze mirrors, coffin gas tank and would buzz your feet to sleep if you did over 50mph! A thrill to ride and "hairy" around the old roads of Newfoundland especially on the curves. I was probably 1 of a very few who drove to school in grade 12 with a leather jacket and a cut off jean jacket made into a vest, with a full back AC/DC patch and smelling like I used 88 octane gas as an cologne to class on a regular basis! (And weighing in at an astounding 100 pounds soaking wet!!) Good times...
We would always call him, "Goggles A-Pizano!!!"

It's really cool to look back when your parents were in there prime. I am lucky he's still around. My dad and I went to Gary's diner in Qualicum Beach, B.C after posting those pictures and laughed about. He's a good sport. If your ever in Qualicum for the big car show, that diner has a lot of cool car pictures on the wall.
Yes, you are very lucky to still have your dad around. My dad passed away 9 years ago March 9th and I miss him greatly. I really wish he could see the Laurentian and this website. He'd be thrilled!
Absolutely!! When it came to old Ponchos and motorcycles for me, he found them!! I agree with the rest of the clan, a Fathers Day tribute would be in order.......
