As far as under hood, except for lighting, I think the CP's are very similar to Chevrolets. But underdash probably is a mix between Chevrolet and USA Poncho.
These drawings from a 69' CP full size shop manual should be very similar to 70'. But I wouldn't count on it being exact as far as the dash portion goes.
Best bet is to get yourself a 70' CP shop manual.

I have a 70 Pontiac manual that has Oshawa printed on the table of contents page. However, it clearly covers Catalina, Bonneville and Tempest. The engine pictures are all of the US engine so I don't know if the wiring diagrams in it are correct.

It's more for general knowledge and cleanup. There are but connectors and wires everywhere. Figured having a sort of roadmap would be helpful.
the colour of choice was orange so I will have to trace and refer to a guide to figure this stuff out. I don't enjoy electrical, at least other then lights and blower, the only other electonic option is the conv.

The 69's all have that underdash spaghetti... the Orange 20G wire, right?. It's factory.
It's for the in car lighting. Mine looked like a complete mess as well, they seemed to use twice as much wire than required and had it wrapped around whatever was conveniant. I plan on for sure tidying it up when I get to that stage.

just a point of interest. when i went to do the wiring under the dash of my 55. none of the wires were tide together. everything was loose. i figured somebody must have ripped everything apart at sometime. but the more trucks that i looked at in wrecking yards they were all the same. after talking to some old timers the scuttlebutt is that it was because if they were bundled they would over heat. needless to say i have a big mess of wires under the dash of my truck.
so in a convertible, other tehn the glove box, are there any other interior llights.....
as i was rooting around, I don't know if I knocked something loose but now the car won't even crank.... dead key....dash lights and headlights work..... any ideas where to start.... as you can tell I am electrical novice

Have you tried starting the car in Neutral instead of Park yet and/or wiggling the shifter around the Park/Neutral areas while trying to start it?. Sometimes simple Neutral safety switch problems are missed and you're into a bunch of unnecessary foolishness and wasted time.. Good luck!.

was this wiring harness issue ever resolved? I'm looking for a 70 convertible parisienne harness as well. I have the original shop manual, so the wiring diagram is the easy part.....geting the part is the hard part.
