Today we had our first "Laurentian drive" for 2009. I charged the battery and she started and ran great. I kept the car fairly clean while in storage giving it the feather duster treatment during the winter (I didn't put a cover on this time) and she looks pretty good. It was great therapy to get behind the wheel again:

The road force balance made a big difference! It was nice to take the car out and have no issues.

Thanks. The 30 year old paint is holding up not too badly. I was torn between the sweet sound of the exhaust or the sweet sound of my stereo! The exhaust eventually won out...

Car looks great Todd. I have to say i agree with Trevor, just sitting behind the wheel is very therapeutic. I don't know when i'll be getting the car on the road this year. I've ordered a fuel filter for it. I'm hoping that will go toward solving the problem i'm having with the throttle body. If not, it's on to bigger more expensive things at some point. At least the fuel filter is under the hood, but damn there are a lot of hoses up top. I'm seriously thinking of taking out the A/C unit. I didn't buy a t top car for A/C.

While your removing the A/C, maybe change it over to a carb & intake. Relatively cheap and easy to find a factory setup for the 305's.

I have been seriously considering it. I had someone from another board i go to give me all the info on making the switch as he had done it with his Trans Am. I've never tackled anything like that myself. To do it myself i'd have to have someone who knows what they're doing pretty much teach me as we go. I'd love to learn how to do it...not only for the money savings when it comes to labour but i really want to know how to do all of this stuff myself so i can do more work and tinkering in the future.

That is what i want to do Steve, its just the wiring i have an issue with (dont know what the hell im doin!!) I dont care about original anymore. If i ever sell the car they can switch it back if they want. I have the dis. and alt. from my 305, but i need to figure out if that dist. has the same gears and will drop in or not. I dont understand to much about this stuff so i have to bribe somebody to come and help me figure it out!!LOL

There is still too much snow and salt around here in Saskatoon for the real nice cars but we're counting the days. The blue 66 reappearing from the snowdrift is my sisters summer driver. I just drove the GP out of the garage after putting all the interior back together over the winter, now it's just paint and bodywork left for that one. Thanks to the "rat rod" genre I've been able to drive it alot lately.

I got the Pontiac out for about half an hour yesterday. Funny, my foot seems heavier this year...
Must be all the good food Connie fed me over the winter!
